Links of the Day

I’ve decided to bring back Links of the Day™. I would never have gotten anywhere without people linking to me, so I should keep returning the favor.
First, it’s a pretty sad story when chimpanzees show more humanity than man.
Still, some monkeys have developed bionic jumping abilities to create havoc.
More good things from chimps: here’s the perfect Care Bear.
I don’t think I’ll ever be the number one Google hit for Frank (I have to compete against Frank Sinatra, Anne Frank, Frank Lloyd Wright, etc.), but Harvey found out I’m already number 34 and is trying to do something to help. Let’s all join in!
The movie Michael Moore Hates America has a new trailer. It appears it’s about a lot more than just Michael Moore; it’s about the problems of documentaries in general and how great America is. I’m excited to see the full movie.
I got the fourth season of The Simpsons about the same day the puppy blender did, but when I received it in the mail I found that Amazon had done the (begin Comic Book Guy voice) worst packaging job… ever! (end Comic Book Guy voice). The packaging was crushed and the inner plastic to hold the DVD’s was smashed. As soon as I put a complaint to Amazon, though, they put out a new order for me with two-day air shipping and gave me a label to print out and return the smashed copy with. Just had to paste the label on a box and it didn’t cost me any postage. Pretty good customer service, I’d say. Should have it tomorrow. Woo-hoo!
Finally, here’s a great essay on being American from someone who chose to be one. (hat tip to Emperor Darth Misha I)

  1. On the Michael Moore “documentary”, I always thought that documentaries were about… well…. documenting facts. I guess I’m just a bit naive in some ways, because there just isn’t a whole lot of fact in anything that Michael Moore does.

  2. he produces what are effectively, little tightly coiled piles of dog s*** The fact of the matter is, to make our jobs easier, when we see a michael moore movie or read a mm book, we should not be asking ourselves, “where are there lies in this piece of s***?” but instead “where are the facts?” for that is much shorter work due to the few and far between facts presented.
i commend Kim du Toit for stating perfectly the problem with our society. The problem is not things needing to be changed, it is the things being changed.

  3. Care Bears:

My wife insists I am part of the Careless Bears, keeps on calling me Nuke Bear (Black, with a nuke cloud on its tummy – black shades of course). Other times it is Evil Republican Bear (Same, with a Republican Symbol on it – wasn’t there an elephant though somewhere in the Care Bears Universe? Need to check that out!). I need to grab my pencils and make some sketches now.

As for Michael Moore, I, as a former citizen of Flushing Michigan (I lived there for almost 20 years), a suburb of Flint, Michigan, I want to share my grief and anger about how much a baffoon he is. I will never forget when he went to Whiting Auditorium in the late 80’s, maybe Oprah was filming there, about Roger & Me, and just was as stupid and leftist as he is today. He was wearing a GM Mexico baseball cap. There are a lot of decent, hardworking people in Flint, including my parents, and my in-laws, and it sickens me he is the “rep” for our area. Give me a break!

After hearing Jezebel-Esther-Singer-formally-known-as-Madonna, she came from Saginaw, Michigan, so I feel doubly shamed now. Must be something in the water, sheesh!

There are conservatives in Michigan, I assure you! And Libertarians as well! Honest!

  4. Amazon did the same for me after I got a DVD which wasn’t on its spindle and got severly scratched in transit. TIP: if you’re buying a DVD off the shelf, shake it a little, and if it rattles get another one.
