The second-worst thing about a movie of the television series “Dallas” (the worst thing being that they’re making one to begin with) is that it will not actually be filmed in Dallas.
So, to convince the producers of “Dallas” to do it in Dallas:
City officials say there’s no substitute for the original when it comes to producing a movie version of the long-running “Dallas” television show.
The Dallas Film Commission on Wednesday launched the “Shoot JR in Dallas” campaign in hopes of luring the movie’s producers to North Texas.
That’s right. Shoot JR in Dallas. Cute, huh?
So if Oliver Stone had wanted to film in Toronto fifteen years ago, would Dallas have held a “Shoot JFK in Dallas” campaign?
(By the way, Debbie Does Dallas was filmed at SUNY Stony Book, Long Island and not Dallas.)
I live in Austin. My brother-in-law lives in Dallas. Which means, I have to go there … often.
First, I hate leaving Austin for ANY reason. Second, if I do have to leave, I prefer not to have to go someplace … (how to say this delicately, so as not to offend?) … SO FREAKIN’ UGLY!
Still, its better than Detroit.
… oh, but I kind of dig Ft. Worth. The Stockyards are awesome! And Joe T. Garcias is the place to be!
Hey!!! As a former Detroit resident, I … probably wholeheartedly agree with you.
Okay I’m from Cowtown (Ft Worth), and its no wonder film makers avoid dallas like the plague, the city council is nothing but a laughing joke, the mayor is akin to blackbooted feminazi, there isn’t a week go by that the folks in Cowtown are ROTFLTAO over the actions of the dallas governing body. Half the city council is up on charges or have been to court over graff/bribes you name it….now would you want to go to that city and spend millions of dollars and expect them to coorperate? dallas is a joke! Hell the police dept will arrest you for carrying drywall powder…(highly illegal in the city limits of dallas) It got so bad the Dallas Cowboys moved to Arlington to get away from it.
