Anyway, there was talk about how bad the economy was, and that putting a Democrat in office — even a raving socialist like Obama — would bring back the Clinton economy. Remember that?
Well, guess what? It’s happened.
The Dow closed this afternoon at 6725.02. It hasn’t closed that low since April 21st, 1997, when it closed at 6660.21.
That’s when Clinton was president.
At this rate, we’ll soon be a prosperous as we were during the Roosevelt administration, where the Dow peaked at 194.40, on March 10, 1937.
Ah, the good old days.

The reason it was so low for both Clinton and Obama is because of all the failures of the conservative administrations that preceded them. Obama and his cabinet are doing everything in their power to clean up the mess left over and unfortunately this will take time. We are all in this together and if you were actually patriotic or cared about anybody but your own self, then you would stop this idiotic commentary.

I guess you missed the part about Jimmy Carter signing the Community Reinvestment Act in 1977, and Bill Clinton strengthening it in 1999 by signing the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, also known as the “Financial Services Modernization Act.” Please let me also introduce you to Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. George Bush made many attempts to head off this crises but was defeated by partisan politics.
Do you think the cap and trade legislation that Obama wants will help the economy? You know, the one that Obama promised when he spoke to the SF Chronicle last year where he said that his policy would cause the cost of electricity to “skyrocket”. Yup, that should help an economy in trouble all right. No one in the U.S. will be untouched by that one.
