Syrian Perspective

[High Praise! to Nuking Politics]

Those who think like me are opposed to taking action in Syria. That is my knee-jerk reaction too, and no small part of that is the fact that it is something Obama supports. So naturally it must be bad.

It is bad, but so is not doing anything. There is a reason why nations are hesitant about using certain types of weapons. It is because they are banned, and that ban is only as good as the force to back it up. Kind of like when you tell your kid to clean up his room. He won’t if he knows nothing will happen if he doesn’t. Spare the rod, spoil the dictator.

  1. I havent read the whole post at Nuking yet, but I dont think Syria ever signed onto the ban. If they did and they used chemical weapons then I am all for spanking the snot out of them. However if they have not then it sucks but not much we should do. There are a lot of weapons type bans that the US hasnt signed because we want to have the ability to use certain weapons. Also this was a UN ban on weapons so why do we have to punish Asshat for using them even if they did sign the ban? This is actually one mess that we didnt cause, so why do we have to clean it up? There are three countries that border Syria that have more of stake in what happens there than we do and they have military capability to smack Syria good and hard. Also where is Russia and China on this? Yeah Russian as been bascially just screwing with us, but isn’t it about time that both them and the Chinese start stepping up? Isnt it about time they start seeing just how hard it is to be America? Let them send troops over there and the next time a tsunami wipes out all the huts on Gilligan’s Island or an earthquake hits Krapistan they can send aircraft carriers and MRE’s and rebuild them. If they want a seat at the big peoples table this thanksgiving then by God they need to start acting like they deserve to be there.
