This doesn’t seem remotely plausible to me.
Mr McCorkle is right. This is just a wrinkle on existing tech. Nothing exotic. The window modulated the laser beam directly. Here they are using software to convert visually recorded motion to audio.
Only news to a younger generation, perhaps.
