At the University of Ottawa in Canada, a yoga class was cancelled because of complaints that the lessons were an unacceptable “cultural appropriation” of a non-Western practice.
Yes, that’s terrible. Like Canadians stealing US college students’ culture of whining like a toddler who dropped his ice cream.
Do they have a list of acceptable Western Practices they weren’t appropriated from anyone outside the West?
Perhaps they should outlaw speaking of English or French…after all these are the languages of the European oppressor. Better go back to speaking Algonquin on campus to make everyone happy.
I am sorry but English is my cultural language so unless they are white males they shouldn’t speak it because they would then be appropriating my culture. [Watch out for exploding head parts.]
