I’m not sure the first time I heard about the gunfight at the O.K. Corral. It could have been the Star Trek episode “Spectre of the Gun,” but I think I already knew about it before then.
It’s one of those moments that you hear about, but Hollywood has played it so many different ways, you aren’t really sure what’s true and what isn’t. But, while that event has a lot that’s uncertain, we still know a lot about the people who participated: the Earp gang and the Clanton gang.
So, what’s on your mind? Got something you’d like to share? It’s Wednesday Night Open Thread.
Who wants to start?

Interestingly enough one of those Star Trek actors also appeared in a movie version of the O.K. Corral story.
Good ole Bones McCoy played in a lot of westerns, he was usually a bad guy. Spock was in a bunch too.
I watch a lot of westerns on Grit.
And their paths crossed.
Kelley was on some cop show called “The Lieutenant” or something, and after being hired for the role of Bones, he suggested Nimoy be contacted for the Spock role, since Nimoy guest-starred on an episode of “The Lieutenant.”
That’s the story as I remember it. If you think I’m going through a galaxy of YouTube videos to find the citation, forget it.
Nope. Gonna have to chalk this up to Urban Legend until you do.
