Apparently a number of the “progressive” havens like Austin and Portland are basically full of white people. Which isn’t to say that white liberals are racist, it’s just that they hate minorities and don’t want to live around them. Instead, as liberals, they want to pass laws to tell minorities what to do from afar.
I think this explains Barack Obama somewhat. He was probably about to move into a white, liberal neighborhood in Illinois so they were scrambling to find some way to get rid of him and settled on electing him president.
That’s not very fair, Frank. Liberals don’t hate minorities – after all, some of their favorite gardeners and maids are minorities (they work cheap too!).
It’s just that, when you build a workers’ paradise like Portland or Austin, you have to have high taxes. For some reason these people that work for low wages just don’t want to pay their fair share of taxes. They’d rather live a few miles away in Po’town and spend their money on frivolous things like children. I mean, have you seen all the children in Po’town? That could never happen in progressive cities like Seattle and Denver. They are full of good liberals who reduce their carbon footprint by having abortions instead.
Of course, it isn’t just taxes, there are other factors. For example, land use restrictions that make sure housing prices stay high and that only the right sort of employers (white collar) locate there. But it isn’t that liberals don’t like minorities – they just don’t want to live in a place that minorities would actually live in.
I was just thinking on how San Francisco hasn’t become Detroit, or Atlanta. For the most part, it’s the ‘If you have to ask, you can’t afford it’ prices of real estate.
Thus, Oakland sprung up, with a convenient suspension bridge to separate the two cities.
There are two possible outcomes of the regressive policies of Libtards: Either the city becomes like ‘Old Detroit’, in the Robocop movie,
or the city becomes like the future L.A. Metropolis portrayed in Demolition Man. Either way, it ain’t pretty for the future, with Libtards in charge.
The neighborhood should have been able to tolerate him at least half the time.
Atlanta proper is a liberal Mecca. White liberal gated enclaves surrounded by housing projects and vacant shopping malls. There are very few white married couples with children in Atlanta city limits. All of the rigght-leaning successful folks, regardless of race, live outside the perimeter highway. The downtown business district is a ghost town except for the sports venues.
If you think Atlanta is a liberal Mecca, try living in/near The Peoples Republic Of Cambridge, MA, it’s world famous but most people don’t realize it’s only 7 sq miles and about 5 of those are either not so nice or down right ghetto bleep hole. But the rich areas are home to more Obama signs/bumper stickers than anywhere on earth. A few years ago I worked on a Harvard prof’s mansion, he had a snot of a wife and even snottier 16 yo daughter (who’s first car was a Volvo and she literally referred to mom as “mother”) They had an Obama sign in the yard for months as did half the people on the street (average house price about $3 million) and yet…she refused to have “landscapers” work on her yard, you know, one of those jobs undocumented workers tend to have, they had a gardener, aka some 50 yo white lady who lived in the area. Her cleaning lady was also white and didn’t “need” the job.
Over in Lexington (as in the battle of Lexington and Concord), a place that bends over backwards to “celebrate diversity”, I’ve spent the last 3 months working on a dump of a raised ranch house with a kitchen and bathrooms straight out of 1967, 3 bedrooms on about 2/3 of an acre, sale price 6 months ago: $840,000
Yeah, they celebrate diversity all right, they celebrate that diversity can’t afford to live there. But they’re all for raising the minimum wage to like…$9/hr, just ask them but don’t tell the hot Brazilian cleaning girl, she might want a raise.
