Martin Luther King
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
Just for the record, we’re still not close to Martin Luther King’s ideal. The Obama voters were a mix of people judging him on the color of his skin and the more enlightened who judged him neither on the color of his skin or the content of his character since there was no content of his character to judge. They just really really hoped he’ll be a good president despite not have no evidence to back that up.
Still, you could say the election choice was made about as stupidly as usual, often without regard to race. That might be progress.

I think Obama has at least as much character as Pelosi or Reid
November 5th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
That’s not saying much, Max.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Are you kidding? Barack Obama has twice the character of those other two clowns, thereby giving him all the personality of a jelly doughnut. OK, maybe not a jelly doughnut, but be patient; I’m sure his handlers are working hard to give him some substance. Now that their juvenile TV star is president-elect, they’ve just got to come up with something…
November 5th, 2008 at 2:22 pm
Actually, I would debate that most of the Obama voters did vote for what they perceived to be the content of his character, even if the character was a charade that changed every news cycle. He basically hoodwinked the sheeple. Now, if black voter turnout was markedly increased then that would be a different story, but that demographic just voted as they were told, like they always do every election. It’s a sad time in the history of Democracy. Dammit.

Now is not the time to attack the Obama, now is the time for more Hellbender!
Okay it is the time attack Obama and the time for more Hellbender!
November 5th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
Well. There is this.
but yes. Mostly I think people were hoping for change and whatnot.
Even if The O left it entirely up to them to imagine what that change would be.
November 5th, 2008 at 3:09 pm
The second law in our new Republican Underground is “Always is the time to attack Obama”. The first law is “Always is the time to ridicule Obama”. Law three is “Hide all your buckets”.
November 5th, 2008 at 3:13 pm
You’re right, the election wasn’t all about race. People voted for him based on a lot of misinformation. But it does say something that people elected him despite his race. It’s encouraging to see that the majority of America can see past color, even if they can’t see to the bottom of the illuminati politician.

AlanABQ – It does seem as if they’ve been making it up as they go along, doesn’t it? I guess it’s hard writing a script in real-time. Good thing they’ve got 2 monts before inauguration. If they work hard enough he might have the character of a oyster by then.
November 5th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
Bucket Breath has no character. Selling the soul does that to a person.
November 5th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
Law three is “Hide all your buckets”.
No, we need at least one bucket to cover Obama’s head with…
November 5th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
I know this is off topic, but did anyone else notice the ugly ass dress Michelle Obama had on last night? blech! Someone get her a new wardrobe, please!
November 5th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
Jerry Seinfeld had a sucessful TV show about nothing.
Barack Obama had a sucessful campaign about nothing.

Last night, November 4th, 2008, we (not myself personally, but other Americans) elected Barack Obama President of the United States.
For posterity, I would like to preserve a few of the headlines from November 5th, 2008:
“Wall Street plunges as Investors Ponder Obama Presidency”
“Russia Threatens to Electronically Jam U.S. Missile Shield”
“Russia Places Missiles on EU Border”
“Iran Warns US Not to Violate Airspace”
“Hamas Fires Over 35 Rockets Towards Israel”
“Israel Launches First Airstrike on Gaza Since June”
“Jogger Runs Mile With Rabid Fox Locked on Her Arm”
Dow: -5% Nasdaq: -5.5%
So, our economy is tanking even further, our enemies are emboldened, and rabid animals have descended to feast on our recreational runners. Good decision we made there.

For some reason, the quote thingy isn’t working
November 5th, 2008 at 4:22 pm
Are you sucking up so that when the Fairness Doctrine is implemented you will be regarded as liberal?
November 5th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
#14 Scott: You hit the nail on the head. You could also add that Syria recently completed its encirclement of Lebanon and her portion of the border with Israel and has upgraded Russian air defense and anti-tank weapons. Add the countdown to Iran going nuclear in 2009, and, well, imagine the overall timing of a game of “gotcha” dumped right in Obama’s lap. This isn’t prophetic – it’s handwriting on the wall.
November 5th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
Anyone still think we should nominate moderates and liberals? Anyone? Bueller?
November 5th, 2008 at 4:40 pm
Although it hurts to say, but the true ideal of MLKjr. will never be reached, as there will always be elements of evil (i.e. racist $#!^$ that need to be murdered) within all of society, and any method to forcibly mute them (such as the Canadian “Human Rights” Commissions) will only strengthen their lies. Then there are these fools who will vote a black man into office for the shallow reason that they believe it gives them redemption, when by even thinking and voting on it in the first place is a sign that racism still exists. It is a sad, unfortunate state.
…Luckily, I have tons of alcohol and I’m the crazy kind of drunk (like the Joker), so I don’t mind any of this whatsoever.
November 5th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
I certainly figured out why the ROW (rest of the world) loves loves loves the O – Misery loves company and they consider him one of their own –
Yep the dow went further as the day went on and not only did Russia plan to pug missles in the air they are now taunting O with the threat of jamming our system – nice start hu?
But there is a silver lining although beit a shameful that I should even think this way, but O has done what Bush took more than 4 years to do:
Alienate 50% of the nation even before stepping into the white house and gaining the support of 14 million illegal alliens all in one day!

Did anyone happen to see 4 Horses, with Riders, in the sky on their way to work? One was Red, One Black, One White and the Other was Pale. Anyone see that? And if so, anyone know what that portends?

#12: PammyV, yup, it was sho nuff a “no you dint” dress. Looked suspiciously like a Black Widow to me.
November 5th, 2008 at 9:31 pm
“Black Widow”? Are you saying Obama’s gonna die soon?
November 5th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
It’s not the whites that have betrayed Martin Luther King, it’s the blacks.
First off, MLK was a Republican…not a democrat. Republicans freed the slaves, led the civil rights movement (fighting against the democrats the whole way), and have hired blacks to positions like Supreme Court justice (fighting Joe Biden’s lynch mob committee the whole way), Secretary of State, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, head of the FCC, etc.
But, over 90 percent of voting blacks cast their ballot for the party of segregation each election.
Democrats’ contribution to black Americans was the creation of a welfare system designed to make them 2nd class citizens, enslaved and beholden to the government, which destroyed the black family. Instead of MLK’s “colorblind society”, which the Republican party has fought to achieve, the dems see only skin color and believe that without handouts and quota’s blacks aren’t intelligent enough to be successful. Many who voted for Obama did so because they believe he’ll “give” them more…not because they believe he’ll allow them the opportunity to achieve more.
Frankly, MLK probably wouldn’t be excited about a candidate who campaigned for two full years without ever establishing a single accomplishment that would qualify him for the world’s highest office, offering only that Americans could be part of “history” by casting their vote for the candidate of color.
Pretty pathetic.
November 5th, 2008 at 10:56 pm
Pathetic and ironic, imo.

November 6th, 2008 at 1:38 am
It’s even worse when one considers how the left has essentially sold the notion that inequality of an outcome is just the result of inequality of opportunity. Thus, we have “affirmative action”, which in the long & short run doesn’t actually do blacks any favors but keeps them pigeon-holed without any real skills in jobs that need genuinely skilled people.
In fact, yesterday’s election results illustrate this better than my meager words ever could.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:55 am
One would tend to believe that it would be more apropos to call Black Democrats Uncle Tom because they seem to love the massah that keeps them on the Plantation. But, logic seems to have lost its seat at the table i this day and age.
November 6th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
#25, DC says: ” “Black Widow”? Are you saying Obama’s gonna die soon? ”
Hey, like he said, there’s always Hope…

Haha, a taste of his own medicine.
November 6th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
there’s the scum of the internet that are bitter and try to make this amazing historical day tainted
Oh the drama! Tuesday would have been a historical day no matter who won, genius: First Woman Vice-President was the alternative.
And don’t worry, we’ll be as supportive of BHO as your side, the so-called “news” media, and Hollywood has been of George W. for the past 8 years. We’ll also be about as quiet.
Watch your donkey tails, we’re onto your ACORN-fraudulent version of a win.

#26 Son of Bob – Do you have a reference that shows MLK was a Republican? He opposed the Vietnam War, calling the US government “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today”, and campaigned for “economic justice”. The man accomplished some great things, but he had some blame-America-first Marxist ideas in there as well.
