Davids Medienkritik organized a rally in support of the America-Germany relationship.
Cathy Seipp has humble opinions on why the blogosphere is more male than female. i personally think it’s because we women agree that nagging just doesn’t come across as well in cyberspace. right, Frank?
my all-time favorite Calvin & Hobbes cartoon is the one where Calvin is really concentrating hard on trying to blow his nose; he says, “i hate it when my boogers freeze.” that makes me giggle to this day. anyway, Kevin of Eckernet has a link to the Calvin & Hobbes archives. first ronin to find the one i described… uh… gets to read it first.

  1. Personally, I always liked the snowmen that Calvin would make. My favorite ones were the car accident scene in the driveway, and the mutant snowmen saluting his dad returning from work.
BTW have you ever heard the conspiracy theory that Frazz is drawn by the same cartoonist that drew Calvin and Hobbes, and is about a grown up Calvin; now named Frazz?

  2. My favorite short calvin? “Krakow Krakow! Two direct hits!” but, then, I’m 1/4 polish.
My favorite long form – Spaceman Spiff in the teacher’s lounge.
Frazz lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He isn’t Calvin. I have no proof, just a notion. Besides, Frazz has a girlfriend not named suzie, and we know that’s just wrong.

  3. SarahK, thank you my dear. Calvin and Hobbes was (and is) my favorite cartoon to be followed by The Far Side. Bill Waterson did everybody a disservice when he quit the strip. He was every bit as funny as when he started it.
I have not read the paper with as much zeal since……whatta shame.
