Ummm, I’m going out on a limb here, but when another Nimitz class carrier gets built, an older one goes out of commission.
Of the big ones Forrestal, Independence, Ranger, Saratoga, and Constellation are in reserve. America is to be scrapped. The Kitty Hawk and the JFK are the only fossil fueled carriers left in commission.
