3^2-th Carnival of Comedy

Welcome to The 3^2-th Carnival of Comedy

Short intro this week and yes I know the carnival is later than advertised. And for good reason. What is the good reason? Exactly.

We are asking for constructive criticism on the entries this week, so I numbered the entries to make it simpler to reference the ones you are giving the critique of.

The object here is NOT TO CRITICIZE SPACEMONKEY. Simply put, I can’t take it. I can however, dish it out.

Constructive criticism is what we are looking for here.
If you as a submitter to the carnival don’t want to read criticism of your work, don’t read the comments.

If you as a reader love an entry, comment in both places assuming they have comments.
Surf with care this week as I have not previewed all the posts for content. There may be some profanities or vulgarities might encounter that there are no warnings about. I wanted to review them for the first time after posting the Carnival.

  1. I think the carnival of comedies is communist. Everyone gets in damn it. I think it should be more of a contest to get in. That way reviewing only 10 entries would be easier and competing is always more fun if you aren’t a stupid hippie/communist.

  2. Grim! You treacherous dog!
Also – I’m through about 14 or so, and since nobody’s commenting, I’m giving it a shot.
So far, the best I’ve read (by far) is Holly Aho (9a,9b). Both of her submissions were good.
Special mention also goes to Steve the Pirate, because that was pretty good, too.
I do have a bit of an issue with David (14a,b). He’s got nudity pretty prominently on the page – and I’m at work. Maybe a little not work safe disclaimer?

  3. Thoughts on 15-31:
15: post (a) was pretty decent, post (b) was just links that i didn’t click on (they could’ve been awesome, for all i know)
17: Buckley’s always got good stuff, but since I check his site every day, I’d already read that one
    23: Pamela.
24: I don’t know if it’s one guy posting as different people, or several guys. Regardless, the Michael Moore pic with pizza sauce all over his face made me laugh.
25: What a bunch of unfunny commi/hippie loving garbage.
27: Hilarious. The second post I’ve laughed out loud on.
31: Appeared to be pretty clever, and I’m assuming it is, but I don’t read LGF, so I could be way off.
Lunch is pretty well over, so I’ll have to read the rest over the weekend (or secretly the rest of the afternoon).
I have to say I’m disappointed with the lack of other people posting.
Would maybe creating some sort of voting system make more interest? Possibly an award (postable on their blog/post) for top-10 posts and carnival champion?

  4. Xeno,
Re: #24, yeah, we really are two – er, I mean three – people.
I’m going to try to comment on as many as I can — but ‘the work thing’ and all prevents it until tonight. I’m hoping that’s true of others as well.

  5. A Completely Impartial and Objective Review of Entry 21 by Someone Who Is Not the Auther of Said Entry
Doc Rampage’s entry this week is an esoteric, even avant-guard entry into the field of advanced humor. It’s not the side-splitting kind of humor that some of his previous entries have shown; rather, in this post he shows us his enormous depth of comedic talent with a subtle and unexpected bit of hyperbole. Carefully and delightfully tailored for the sophisticated, and yes, let us admit it, slightly jaded, gourmet comedy audience.
Another tour de force, by the beloved and whacky yet serious Doc Rampage. Don’t miss it. Showing at a blog near you.
