Apparently I was mistaken to assume that an absence of comments on lolterizt! posts indicated widespread reader apathy.
The feature stays.
And to clarify a point, it wasn’t due to lack of material or reader submissions. I’ll cheerfully make a pile of my own every week, even if no one else joins the fun. I just honestly thought nobody cared any more.
As to what to leave in the comments, well, as with all list-type humor, it’s ALWAYS acceptable to quote the item in question and follow it with some internet acronym indicating amusement.
For example:

“Dustbunneh”
ROTFLMAOTNTPMP!!!!1!

It’s ALSO acceptable (and, in fact, encouraged) to leave such comments even if someone else has already left a comment about the same item.
If there’s a blogger in existence who ever got too much positive feedback, I’ve never met him, and he sure as hell isn’t me, either.
Note to Fiftycal – subtitles I can do. These pictures have an “alt text” tag on them, so if you’re using Internet Explorer, you can hover your mouse over them and a little box will appear with words in it (it defaults to the picture’s file name, but I can make it whatever I want). I’ll try including a translation for the leet-speak impaired in the alt text in future editions.
If the mouse-hover thing isn’t working, then right-click on the picture and choose “Properties”. The Alternate Text should be listed in the box that pops up.

  1. Yeah, many times, Harvey, I just don’t know what to say after viewing lolterizt! Most of the time I chuckle but sometimes I’m angry and just start swearing at the idiots depicted. I’m glad you’re keeping it – but you should only if YOU enjoy it, also.

  2. I would too appreciate a little less accent on this lolslang. I have no problems reading I Can Has Cheezburger, but lolteroristz (hint, hint) are sometimes indeciphrable for me.
And I can use words like ‘indeciphrable’.

  3. Put a title attribute on the image tag and it will pop up as a tooltip on hover for everybody.
<img title=”This text will pop up on hover.” alt=”Replacement text for accessibility reasons.” src=”path/to/file.jpg”>

  4. Yo! Someone that isn’t a noob both uses Internet Explorer and will admit to it in public? How mnay pieces of malware are currently battling it out to see which one will 0wn yer machine? 🙂
Hello, it isn’t 1999 anymore. Firefox doesn’t have nearly as many horrible security problems and the bugs that are found don’t have to wait until the next ‘patch Tuesday’ to get closed. Free for the downloading, try it and odds are you will join the millions who like it.

  5. Hey mate, I’m a relative newcomer to your site, and not exactly up to date with the web-based shorthand, so I didn’t really understand the meaning of “lolterizt”. But checking the link, I was ROTFLMAO. Great laughs there.
Great site, and I really dig our candidate for POTUS. (Did I date myself with that comment?)
    Keep up the great work.
