I Could (possibly) Vote For McCain, IF…

I could (possibly) vote for McCain, IF… He does each of the following:

  • Picks a actual conservative for his VP, no Grahmnesty, Huckabee or Durbin or for the love of all that’s Holy, Lieberman, instead somebody like Thompson!!!!, Coburn or Watts.
  • Stops waving his hands down like he’s swatting down a dog that’s humping his leg, whenever real conservatives boo him for his sins against conservatism.
  • Forgets the name Reagan except when comparing others, who are actually Reaganesque, to the man.
  • Banishes the phrase “straight talk” from his vocabulary. (straight out of a bulls’ rear end doesn’t make it straight talk)
  • Quits mentioning his POW time in every speech. Except in reference to how life under a Socialist (D-IL) or ( D-NY) would be.
  • Wears a flight helment emblazoned with ‘Rhino Maverick’ at all public appearances till election day.
  • Cuts off his own left ear with a cheese grater.
  • Admits he was wrong, WRONG, W.R.O.N.G about amnesty.
Ok, he doesn’t have to do all of them, just the first one and last two. The rest are just because I still bear such ill will towards him.
    McCain/Thompson ’08!

    1. A good choice for him would be Haley Barbour. Master political strategist, the only guy who came out of Katrina actually looking good.
I don’t think he’ll ever admit he was wrong on Immigration reform, because he wasn’t.

    2. I predict that Obama “turns right” in order to win over some Republican recalcitrants, ussjc.
I wonder if he really is the brain-empty, strutting, preaching socialist that he appears to be. Are there any clues that it’s all been an act?

    3. I’m not working today. But I’m also not reading comments with the names “Nate” and “JoeB131” either. I rather suspect that the word “GAZE” could be changed to “GLAZE” ’cause my eyes are glazing over on all of this nonsense, funny as it is at times.

    4. I love this planet so much, I couldn’t possibly vote for McCain. Just think of all the global warming caused by letting those Mexicans invade the country. My God, think of all the methane emissions from the bean farts!!! At least Hillary will exterminate Republicans, so they won’t create any greenhouse gas emissions.
Hillary ’08 – The REAL “final solution” to global warming!

    5. We have spent too much blood and treasure on the war to give it over to the surrender monkeys of the left. We will just have to hold our noses and vote McCain. At least he is serious about the war. Even if waterboarding is a little too much for him.

    6. Actually, I had a better idea.
McCain should pick a running mate based on maximizing the damage the Dems are doing to themselves.
For instance if Hillary defeats Obama by throwing a few elbows, he should select someone like Colin Powell or J.C. Watts.
If Obama wins, he should pick Liddy Dole, pick up that female vote that might be floating loose.
(Can hear the shrill voices of “Identity politics” now.)

    7. Alan, if you’re going to post as JoeB, you really need to include a mention of “magic underwear”, refer to us as bigots (while simultaneously including bigoted statments), recite various communist/socialist talking points, or profess your undying love for Huckabee. Otherwise, we’re not going to treat any of JoeB posts with the seriousness they deserve….

    8. WASHINGTON (AP) – Without naming John McCain, President Bush marshaled the conservative wing of the Republican Party on Friday to back the presumed GOP presidential nominee for the upcoming battle against the Democratic Party.
Puuuuleeese! Like he has any sway over real conservatives anymore. I do agree with him, but the media makes him out to be the spokesman for the conservatives…

    9. Quits mentioning his POW time in every speech. Except in reference to how life under a Socialist (D-IL) or ( D-NY) would be.

Yeah, if you think 5 years in a tiger cage is bad, imagine 4 years with Obama as your deity (er, I mean president).
BTW (Hillary is nearly toast, so start warming up to our most liberal senator.) I guess we are better off with the most liberal republican senator vs. the penultimate liberal savior (I mean senator).

    10. WOMEN ARE BEING BEATEN AND BEHEADED FOR NO WEARING OF SCARF IN THE NEW ISLAMIC STATE ESTABLISHED BY US AMERICA. THIS IS NO GOOD WAR. THIS WAR BUSH RESPONSIBLE FOR. VOTE OBAMA! VOTE OBAMA! VOTE OBAMA! OBAMA: “WE ARE THE PEOPLE WE ARE LOOKING FOR!”
The women are killed, police say, because they failed to wear a headscarf or because they ignored other “rules” that secretive fundamentalist groups want to enforce.
“Fear, fear is always there,” says 30-year-old Safana, an artist and university professor. “We don’t know who to be afraid of. Maybe it’s a friend or a student you teach. There is no break, no security. I don’t know who to be afraid of.”
Her fear is justified. Iraq’s second-largest city, Basra, is a stronghold of conservative Shia groups. As many as 133 women were killed in Basra last year — 79 for violation of “Islamic teachings” and 47 for so-called honor killings, according to IRIN, the news branch of the U.N.’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
One glance through the police file is enough to understand the consequences. Basra’s police chief, Gen. Abdul Jalil Khalaf, flips through the file, pointing to one unsolved case after another. Video Watch Khalaf show evidence of the brutality
“I think so far, we have been unable to tackle this problem properly,” he says. “There are many motives for these crimes and parties involved in killing women, by strangling, beheading, chopping off their hands, legs, heads.”
“When I came to Basra a year ago,” he says, “two women were killed in front of their kids. Their blood was flowing in front of their kids, they were crying. Another woman was killed in front of her 6-year-old son, another in front of her 11-year-old child, and yet another who was pregnant.”

    11. So you’ll sell out your ideals for a token Conservative who will be told to sit down and shut up until Qwai Chang sends him down to El Paso to welcome the 75,000,000 new “guests of my good friend, The Senator from Massachusetts” as they enter the US to formally retake pocession of the Southwest.
Do you really believe that McCain will admit that he DOES NOT have the devine right to rule this country as HE sees fit. This megolomaniac KNOWS that what he believes is superior to us stupid conservatives and he will not change his policies but he will tell us what we want to hear so we’ll shut up and let him take over. If you think he is not going to screw you up the ass the second he is in Office than you deserve what happens. And the GOP will have no choice but to “Support our President”!
McCain is an open borders, “I know better than you and I always will and I was a hero once so shut and and do what I say”, Kennedy loving, Bill of Rights underminning RINO!
I will NEVER vote for him and I am now actively supporting Obama. The Republic was a wonderful thing, but it is gone now and our only hope is we can make sure the Left gets the blame for it’s demise. They will appoint a bunch of Social engineering iberal judges and we will lose the Liberties thousands died trying to preserve but maybe, just maybe, their treason and the final fall of America will relight the desire for Freedom that the Founders had.
There might be a 1% chance that we can keep the Senate under the 60 seat margin they need to stop filibuster, but I suspect that as soon as the Dems have a majority the will pull the triger on the “Nuclear Issue” that they screamed about the Republicans using. Maybe they can retake the House in two years and mount a real challange in 2012. But I honestly fear this is the LAST Presidential election we’ll see in my life time.

    12. Duuuude . . . WHY would any self-respecting conservative be McShame’s VP? If I would feel filthy VOTING for him, how dirty would a running mate feel? The only reason I can think of is to think he’s helping to be a buffer between the McCain and the People. :-/

Um, dumbass, Basra was under the control of the British, not the U.S., who bragged earlier about their laid back/hands off methods in comparison to our meddlesome interventionist tactics.
      1. To the extent you don’t like the results, don’t blame us.
      2. That policy is essentially what your side is advocating.
      3. Those people who you’re complaining about will run the bulk of the country if your side gets its way and we leave.

    14. Those people who you’re complaining about will run the bulk of the country if your side gets its way and we leave.
IT WAS BETTER WITH SADDAM OPRESSING THESE ISLAMSIT FREAKS. SADDDAM RAN A SECULAR BAGHDAD. WE WILL BE LEAVING IRAQ. OBAMA WILL WIN. WE HAVE MORE FOLLOWERS THAN YOU. PRO-WAR VOICES ARE QUIET AND PATHETIC. YOU WILL LOSE.

    15. #39 – Posted by: PeaceNinja on February 8, 2008 04:51 PM
Feel free to build me a time machine so we can go back to Saddam oppressing the Islamist freaks and I’ll consider your argument.
As it stands right now you’re going to kill a load of people and abandon millions to tyranny just so you can get back at George Bush.
The modern liberal – pining for a dictator who engaged in mass genocide.

    16. As it stands right now you’re going to kill a load of people and abandon millions to tyranny just so you can get back at George Bush.
OUR TROOPS ARE DYING FOR NO REASON. OBAMA SAYS IRAQ IS A DISASTER!!!
OBAMA: “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
YOU will lose. We outnumber your voters. We have more money than McCain. We want change! We will leave IRAQ. It is the right cause of action. It is just. Staying there is VERY wrong.

    17. It is the right cause of action. It is just.
Absolutely, it’s just to take what you’re complaining about happening in Basra when the Brits pulled out and make the entire country like that.
(Plus, we need to invade Pakistan, don’t forget that part of Obama’s plan. We need to abandon a country of 30 million people and invade a country of 170 million that has nuclear weapons – can’t imagine how that could go wrong)

    18. CAPSLOCK IZ CROOZ CONTROL 4 KEWL. IF I TYPE IN ALL CAPS, IT MAKES ME LOOK SMART INSTEAD OF A KID DROPPED ON HIS HEAD TOO MANY TIMES AS A BABY. YA RLY.
GO OBAMA!!! UNTIL HE GETS BEAT BY HILLARY, THEN GO HILLARY!!!

    19. Absolutely, it’s just to take what you’re complaining about happening in Basra when the Brits pulled out and make the entire country like that.
NOT BRITS FAULT. BUSH WAR! BUSH FAULT! BILLIONS MARCHED AROUND WORLD AND TOLD BUSH NO WAR! BUSH NOT LISTEN CAUSE HIM ASSHOLE! I TIRED OF YOU.
WE WILL KICK YOUR ASS IN ELECTION AND BRING TROOPS HOME! OBAMA PULVERIZE YOUR OLD FART NOMINEE INTO DUST!

    20. heads are gonna spin. Scientists say that low sunspot activity in 1650 caused extremely cold weather and that the same thing is happening now.
      hah!
When we enter the deep freeze, cain barryhill can take credit for solving global warming with lightbulb legislation.

    21. It hardly seems moral to hope mccain will pick a conservative VP and then die before completing his term. I’m just going to ignore him and hope he goes away (but not by dying).

So you’re saying it would be wrong of me to hope that he dies bleeding from his asshole?

    22. Trolls: They gotta get attention somehow.
With the troop surge working better than expected, Ron Paul getting his ass kicked repeatedly (I Googled him & as it turns out, he was some little guy running for president), and the notion of possibly having a black fellow as President has made them inconsolable.
Poor things. I say we let them stay for a while… maybe all that impotent rage being wasted on us will save the lives of untold ants & other defenseless critters.

    23. Conservatism is a movement whose time has–clearly–passed. And just in the nick of time. The don’t tax/just spend days of Bush/Cheney will be over soon and mainstream America will no longer have to listen to their lies.

    24. “I also spoke again yesterday to my friend Fred Thompson who assured me he is ready to do whatever it takes to help me win the election in November,” McCain said. “I’m very proud to have the friendship and support of Fred Thompson as well.” -Senator John McCain (HotAir via the Hotline)

    25. The Libs are going to be real unhappy when they get their was and we elect Hitlary/Obama and we do what they want and surrender to the Islamo-Facists. They will be seeing their childrems throats slit like everyone else and I can’t wait to ask them how they feel about seeing their dead bodies defiled in the name of Allah. I wonder how much multi-culturalism they’ll get out of their new masters?
I just read about the American business woman who was arrested in Saudi Arabia for setting with two co-workers at a Starbucks. And an Australian arrested in Dubai for smuggling when they detected 0.004 grams on pot on the bottom of the guy’s shoe! Also a Briton busted for three poppy seeds that fell off his bagel and got stuck on his coat! Or maybe it was just because he was eatting a bagel
The up side is after we fall and before the Islamo-Facists step in we’ll have a window of opportunity to “thank” them for their contribution to America’s decline.

    26. The Libs are going to be real unhappy when they get their was and we elect Hitlary/Obama and we do what they want and surrender to the Islamo-Facists.
NO SURRENDER STUPID. JUST LEAVE IRAQ. BIG DIFFERENCE MORON. IRAQ WAS THE MISTAKE NOT THE TERROR FIGHT. EVERY WAR HAS MISTAKES. IRAQ WAS OUR MISTAKE IN THE WAR ON TERROR. GROW UP POOFACE IDIOT! OBAMACAN

ooooh, billions… you mean, out of the 7 billion people in the world? multiple billions marched? man, I did NOT know that many Chinese peasants hated the War in Iraq on such a fundamental ideological level. huh. you sure taught me something today. Dumbass.

    28. JUST LEAVE IRAQ.
      And invade Pakistan!
      IRAQ WAS THE MISTAKE
And we should let them all fry to make up for our mistake.
      GROW UP POOFACE
No comment, I just like seeing “Grow up” and “pooface” in the same sentence.

    29. multiple billions marched?
HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS THEN! YOU SAW IT ON YOUR TV POOFACE
      And invade Pakistan!
      NO WAY!
And we should let them all fry to make up for our mistake.
BETTER THAN USA TROOPS DYING ON AND ON AND ON FOR A SUNNI-SHIA ROMANCE THAT AINT NEVER GONNA HAPPEN. GET IT OUT. GET OUT OF IRAQ. BOOST USA ECONOMY. OBAMACAN

    30. #67 – Posted by: PeaceNinja on February 8, 2008 09:18 PM
      “And invade Pakistan!”
      “NO WAY!”
Moron, do you realize that it was your beloved Obama who said he would invade Paxistan?
      “BOOST USA ECONOMY. OBAMACAN”
“Yes, Obi-wan, boost economy Obama can.” Stop talking like Yoda. Anyway, rampant socialism has NEVER fixed an economy. See Soviet Union for more details.

    31. And invade Pakistan!
      NO WAY!
      That’s what your candidate wants
      BETTER THAN USA TROOPS DYING
I knew it! You don’t care about third-worlders. Preventing mass genocide over there isn’t worth some of our troops dying – even when we caused it.
HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS THEN! YOU SAW IT ON YOUR TV POOFACE
      Using pooface more than once . . . Non-ironically . . . froll?

    32. Preventing mass genocide over there isn’t worth some of our troops dying – even when we caused it.
WRONG. WE DIDN’T CAUSE THEM TO HATE EACH OTHER. NOT USA FAULT. GAVE THEM A CHANCE. THEY BLEW IT. NOW WE LEAVE.
THINK ABOUT IT! WASTE OF MONEY BEING THERE. WASTE OF TROOPS LIVES.

    33. #60
if true, the statement seems to me to be a mild comment meaning, from Fred, that he won’t support hillary like the tangent coulter is on…..of the radar a bit, i’m thinking mccain would not ask for veep support from him and if he did Fred’s answer would be no.
      #61
accord; i am bewildered that people cannot grasp the difference between love-thy-neighbor and protect-this-great-nation-and-our-freedom. hillary knows what will happen but believes she will be safe…..which happens to be classic behavior of the pauns of satan of whom commit suicide for various reasons….so you won’t be able to ask how they feel.

    34. PeaceNinja may have a point, after intentionally and unintentionally contradicting himself.
We should stop refilling mass graves with american currency(as he implies)that would be better spent on the unmotivated and generally useless welfare addicts.
You have shown me the light. Vote McCain our Mcchurian candidate 08.

    35. IMAO wants 2 white men to be together in the same stall – oops i meant on the same ticket. You posers will be crying your in-the-closet Senator Craig-like tears in November when Obama is President-elect. Wear that jacket right wing bitches!

    36. You know, on second thought, this could just be the kind of people who read Wonkette.
In between blabbing about anal sex all the time and hooking up for money on Capitol Hill, we’re not talking about a bunch of intellectual giants here.

    37. “As it stands right now you’re going to kill a load of people and abandon millions to tyranny just so you can get back at George Bush.”
      Correct.
And sadly, that will be correct if we leave 10 years from now.
      Or 100…

    38. This is a a rating from TheBlogAnalyzer. We recommend you read this analysis before spending much time here on this blog.
RATING: This blog has been giving the following rating: Total Waste of Your Time.
DEMOGRAPHIC: This blog is frequented by horny in-the-closet white men who only wish they could try the bathroom stunt that Senator Craig probably managed to pull off frequently before being arrested.
WHAT DO THEY DISCUSS HERE?: These people want war, beer, Coulter, bibles, border fences, beef and more Coulter. These are the kind of people who spend hours debating the issue of whether Sponge Bob Square Pants is gay. They also discuss how much they dislike Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Liberals, Truthers and Daily Kos (yes, no one likes Kos but these people actually discuss their hatred of Kos).
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO ME IF I STAY HERE?: Your mind will become seriously warped.
WILL THEY RESPECT MY LIBERAL VIEWS HERE: Nope.
SHOULD I TROLL THIS BLOG?: Absolutely! Your Ron Paul views are most welcome here.

oooh! sounds like you are quite the Wonkette reader yourself. someone likey the dirty Wonkette talk?

    40. We eat liberals for breakfast and $hit them by dinner.
They appear to be getting the better of you tonight. The Power of Wonkette is too much for you inarticulate idiots. Better luck next time. Tonight is not your night. Go to bed where you go live out your wildest George Bush and Dick Cheney orgy fantasies.

    41. oooh! sounds like you are quite the Wonkette reader yourself.
Nah, you don’t have to be because that’s all you guys ever talk about. Ever. The sad thing is I’ll admit that Wonkette (the original) was actually kinda hot, but there comes a point when even a woman as hot as her can become so sex obsessed it’s annoying.
      #88 – Posted by: Basilisk on February 9, 2008 12:55 AM
like I said, Wonkette, makes perfect sense now

    42. When are they not terrified of one hypothetical situation or another? If you mention the right to bear arms to them, they become hysterical about crazed neo-cons banding together & shooting people at random, as opposed to the run of the mill crazed non-conservative shooting people at random, whom they fawn over with dripping eulogies about how misunderstood & fragile they were.

    43. Peaceninja,
We pull out of Iraq now, we will be back there in ten years having to do this again. That’s the mistake we made in 1991, we stopped short of going into Baghdad and deposing Saddam because Bush-41 listened to the internationalists who told him the Iraqi military would get rid of Saddam for us. Well, they didn’t, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis Kurds and Shi’ites died, and Saddam continued to be a thorn in our side.
If we pull out, there will be a three-way split in Iraq, and the Sunni state will be a haven for Al Qaeda and whatever other terrorist groups decide to set up camp there. Right now, the Sunnis are helping us root out Al Qaeda, but if we leave, they’ll side with them because they’ll be the only ones who’ll protect them from the Sunnis.
I suspect that even if Obama wins, he’s going to suddenly “realize” this is the case.

    44. “”A good choice for him would be Haley Barbour. Master political strategist, the only guy who came out of Katrina actually looking good.
I don’t think he’ll ever admit he was wrong on Immigration reform, because he wasn’t.
      #3 – Posted by: JoeB131 on February 8, 2008 01:35 PM””
I agree completely. If you listen to him explain his own plan, it wasn’t amnesty. Which, by the way, Reagan DID do. I agree with the pure awesomeness of Reagan, but he wasn’t the second Jesus. This ideal it takes to be worthy of the term ‘Reagan Conservative’ I don’t even think HE’D be able to live up to now!

    45. Reject hippies like PeaceNinja will never understand the problem of Islamo-Facists. Well, they might grab a brief clue as Mo-Ham-Mad starts sawing into his neck with the holy slaughter knive.
Hell, I’d buy that Jihad video, wouldn’t you?
These people seem to think Iraq is not part of the war on terror. Maybe their grandparents were all in favor of WWII but thought we should have never invaded at Anzio or something. Iraq is a battle. After Iraq there will be another. Africa is really heating up.
Instead of pussy footing around in these places trying to win hearts abd minds we need to get down to the ugly truth and kill everyone and everything, piss on any survivors and move on.
They ask that we define “victory”, well here’s the short version; All the other guys are dead and we are not.
Oh, and some beef, beer and Colter does sound like a mighty fine time.
Now I have to go help Obama win because he is going to bring about death and violence on a scale never dreamed of, and I mean here on your street. Then we can rebiuld America. After there are NO MORE LIBERALS.

    46. #103 – Posted by: on February 9, 2008 11:03 AM
      Pinko jackass,
I gave amnesty because I thought the congress-critters would secure the border. They didn’t. If you’re stupid enough to believe McCain is a conservative, then, well. Well, you should probably have your brain checked out by a doctor. If you think 20 million illegals are going to become functioning members of American society…
Then you’re outta your mind pinko.

    47. I called McCain McRINO, as his irksome positions on some supplementary issues have been distinctly anti-republican, most notably the McCain-Kennedy bill (a collaboration with Ted “Chappaquiddick” Kennedy for God’s sake!), the most far reaching amnesty program for illegal immigrants in American history. This is now conservatives’ hot button against McCain. Now they are calling him McAmnesty or Juan McCain.
But consider this: The relevance of McCain’s position on amnesty pales in consideration of his rock solid record on the core principles of the “Reagan coalition”:
#1 – National Defense [War on Terror]
      #2 – Fiscal Conservatism
      #3 – Pro Life
Its hard to fathom how any conservative voter could see any alternative but to support John McCain at this point.
      Unless they’d rather have:
      – Sharia overlords threatening America
      – Tax & Spend Socialism
      – Death to babies in the womb at any stage of development as a convenience.
      – Hard left liberal justices on the supreme court to usher in moveon.org and Rosie O’Donnell’s vision for the nation.
Please, please lets get our priorities straight! The borders will be secured. Get over the specific fate of the illegal immigrants already here not being perfectly resolved to your liking, at least to the point of not letting that issue trump the things that matter most. If there was any issue to compromise on to win back Republican losses and keep the white house in 2008, illegal immigration is it. It is not “make or break” like #s 1, 2 and 3 above.
Fred Thompson was just right to me on ALL the issues, but it became clear that just ain’t gonna fly. Let’s hope and pray that enough of us still realize the critical impact that the establishment of a stable government in Iraq has on our national security and world freedom. We are steadily annihilating those jihadi vermin (even though you only hear about our losses). Keeping them on defense and the war over there has prevented any more 911s over here. The next president may have to deal with a nuclear Iran. Obama? The Clintons? Paleeeeeeeese.
So the point is there’s a lot more to be worried about than Maria the maid or Jose the gardner being deported.

    48. #106 – It’s not Maria the maid or Jose the gardener who concern me. (Especially since they typically come here legally) Akhmed the terrorist escaping Marines in Iraq and sneaking into the country to finish the job here, he’s what concerns me. There’s a reason why military bases are guarded. What’s the point of ‘winning the war’ abroad only to have domestic terrorist attacks on the home front that completely negate the entire purpose of ousting Saddam in the first place?
I’m not going to launch into the essay that all my reasons for drawing my line in the sand at McCain would require, but I will say this: if we’re going to have a liberal in the Oval Office any way you slice it, it may as well be one with a (D) behind his/her name. A Democrat POTUS really won’t be The End of the World As We Know It, and Congresscritters will be more willing to fight a (D) than they will an (R) if for no other reason than that’s the way Washington works. (I see it every day)
What’s more important to me is that people learn what conservatism really means, because there are all manner of liberals who are calling themselves ‘conservative’ simply because they support the war (Christopher Hitchens supports the war…is he then a conservative?) or aren’t out in the loony DU fringe. But ‘not-as-left-as-_______’ =/= conservative.
I think someone needs to sit down and write out a constitution for conservatives, because it would seem some people don’t know what our basic principles really are and seem to think some of the side issues over which some conservatives disagree are the base issues. (i.e., gay marriage: believe it or not, opposition to it is not a core conservative principle nor does it make someone opposed to it a conservative. If you need to confirm this just ask PSUdain)

    49. #59 – Posted by: Paul on February 8, 2008 07:46 PM
You’re mistakenly labeling Bush as a conservative. If he were, the scope of government and the budget wouldn’t have exploded on his watch. He is more of a country club republican. I think a hybrid of the Libertarian party and the conservative wing of the Republican party will be key in salvaging this country from the failed socialist mess that the Dems are foisting on us. All we really need to do is morph the LP foreign policy into something more workable in a world where it is necessary to be less isolationist and more evangelistic in supporting the expansion of liberty and democracy in the world. We must proselytize more effectively than the islamists.
That calls for missionaries, so to speak, to spread the gospel of the principles of liberty and democracy. They can work areas of the world that are relatively docile. The areas dominated by the likes of Chavez, Ahmedinijad, or groups such as Hammas and Hezbollah, require at least the threat of American military power if not the actual use of it. Our military needs not only the massive force capability, but must incorporate more guerilla style units. There should be entire divisions comprised of platoon sized units capable of operating independently and covertly. It would be beneficial to send missionary types along with them to help win the hearts and minds in ways that force alone cannot. These are the psyops/pr people who educate populations and where necessary propagandize. The pen is not necessarily mightier than the sword, but words carry more weight if you have the means to back them up with action in support of or in opposition to the locals.
      You peaceniks are just weenies!
Peace through superior firepower! Semper Fi!

    50. I forgot to add that I did, however, want to thank you for refraining from name-calling, scare-mongering, bullying, or any of the other things I’ve seen from those who will be voting for McCain and are trying to convince others to do so.
      I honestly appreciate that.

    51. I know McCain is wrong on many issues but the last few days I have consoled myself by thinking about how he is going to look to foreign leaders:
      1. Known to have a violent temper
      2. Completely unable to deal with any affront to his “honor”
      3. Not a bit concerned with consequences of his actions or what anyone thinks
      4. Not able to change his mind once he thinks something. (I don’t say “decide” because that would imply reflection)
      4. Possibly a couple of gears not fully meshed
      5. Not able to back down
      So at least that’s something.

    52. WILL THEY RESPECT MY LIBERAL VIEWS HERE: Nope.
      #84 – Posted by: TheBlogAnalyzer on February 9, 2008 12:36 AM
What you trolls spout is hardly liberal. It is socialist tripe. If you want see true, classical liberal thinking that actually promotes individual liberty of thought and action, visit lp.org! I side with those commonly called conservative today, because they understand and embrace true liberalism, unlike the government centric, collectivist, politically correct crap you think is liberal.
Here is a true liberal thought. You are free to stay and learn something of value, or just go away. If you don’t want the enlightenment of real individual liberty centric thinking, please go away, and whine elsewhere outside my classroom.
You need us way more than we need you!
      Semper Fidelis anyway, dumbass.

    53. Agreed, Akhmed Jihadist must be stopped from slipping over the border! Correct me if I’m wrong: McCain, and everyone else (even the Democrats!) agree that our borders must be secured.
Also I must admit that I relish the thought of a sociocrat POTUS facing revived opposition on the hill; but teamed up with Pelosi, Ried, the mainstream media and ignorant minions galore, I fear Butcrack Obama or Hitlery Rotten in the white house would bring too much and too long of a price to pay.
For sure the need for consensus on just what are our core conservative principles has become apparant! What’s even more important to be realized asap is that this election will decide whether we choose to fight to victory in Iraq or announce surrender. It will decide whether we have a president who dangerously weakens U.S. security or strengthens it; whether we will flinch and retreat or fully engage our mortal enemies. Thats my line in the sand.

    54. “These people want war, beer, Coulter, bibles, border fences, beef and more Coulter.”
That’s a damn fine list! LOL.

If only Ann had a little more beef! Curvey girls rule! I do like that little cutie Michelle Malkin, though.

Nothing wrong with banding together and shooting people at random if you are surrounded by lefftist freaks looking to disarm you. Gun control really means being able to hit your intended target afterall. One shot, one kill.
      Semper Fi

    56. We pull out of Iraq now, we will be back there in ten years having to do this again. That’s the mistake we made in 1991
      #101 – Posted by: JoeB131 on February 9, 2008 08:35 AM
Well said. I was there the first time, now my son is there. Do my grandchildre really need to pick up where my children leave off? I say we transform the region this time around! War is always nasty, but oh so necessary in cases like this.

    57. Damn it three in a row that went out unsigned! Damned typekey.
114, 115, 116 were all mine. Why does it do that?
Oh well, typekey can be eliminated in the first round of the new American Revolution!
      Semper Fi, pass the ammo!

    58. Jimmy,
The problem is they will likely never learn from the lesson, and we don’t need to sit through it to grasp the concept. It results in a net step backward for the country.
Hey, typekey seems to be signing this post for me. Will wonders never cease?
      Semper Fi

    59. Yes on Fred Thompson. What can we do? Also I’d like to see Joey Greco as Attorney General. He has widely viewed tv show called Cheaters and graduated from Evangel College in MO. He got a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Counseling from Louisiana Tech. University. He has overseen several very good detectives as well as been a fitness trainer on ESPN and a real estate manager.
He is young and was president of Young Republicans at Evangel College.

    60. What browser are you using, echo?
      #123 – Posted by: AlanABQ on February 9, 2008 03:35 PM
I switch between IE and Firefox. Today it has been IE. I’ll have to watch and see if it only happens in IE. It could also be that I have been interrupted several times today. I’m on call this week.

    61. Jimmy,
It’s the presence of the lefties!(political, that is, not those of us who rely heavily on our left hands) They suck the humor right out of everything. I suppose you could just shorten that to “they suck”. It’s a broad brush to paint them with, but somebody has to use it!

    62. BTW – Mac was absolutely wrong about illegal immigration and amnesty. We shouldn’t reward those who sneak in, or overstay their welcome. The end of the line is in their home country not here. If they do not return to their home country, they are cutting in line ahead of others playing by the rules. Fine levied or not, that concession allowing them to remain here amounts to amnesty.
Reagan made the amnesty mistake. Just because he did it doesn’t mean we should follow suit. We can forgive a mistake, but not Mac or Bush insisting that we repeat it.
We need to have as complete a handle on our border as is possible. Without that control we have no legitimate claim of sovereignty. We also cannot keep criminals and those with infectious diseases out. We are seeing a resurgence of diseases like TB because we have no control over our borders.
I, for one, do not see a conflict with militarizing our borders and Posse Comitatus. The military would not be policing the citizens except where a citizen might cross our border at other than a legal point of entry. I’m not a lawyer though, so if we just do something about lawyers who don’t see it my way, it will all work out just fine!

    63. I could vote for McCain if it came down to choosing between him or some yokel who thinks the 6,000 year old flat Earth sits still at the center of the universe… or if he was up against some rapist harboring woman or inexperienced token black guy who think that its the government’s duty to make hard working Americans pay for the health care of people who opt to squander the greatest opportunities in the world and end up in dead end minimum wage jobs, or that the lawful profits of successful businesses are somehow theirs to seize…
yeah, I’ll take McCain over any of those disgraces

    64. 130#- The problem is that they aren’t “cutting in line”. They have to wait 13 years to get citizenship after they pay a fine. An immigrant waiting in his home country only has to wait 5.
The fact is that it is and remains a complete impracticality to locate, arrest and displace 12-20 million people who have fully intergrated themselves into communities in the US.

    65. #132 – Yeah, but during those 13 years their illegal asses are HERE collecting benefits and enjoying the blessings of living in what used to be the Greatest Nation on the Planet before it abandoned Liberty for Socialism and the rule for law for “fairness”.

    66. “…12-20 million people who have fully intergrated themselves into communities in the US.”
Maybe they were “intergrated”… whatever that is. Is that like what a shredder does to low-cost lettuce?
What I do know is that they are anything but fully integrated. If that were true, then the USA, with its official language being English, would not need multi-lingual signs (almost always Eng./Sp.) in all places of work, mass transit & government offices!
Unless the communities you speak of are exclusively Latino communities, which would in turn be (here comes that term again…are you ready?)…
      …bigoted!
I live in New Mexico; if you want to see real, unabashed bigotry & racism, observe the non-Latino kids in public school here. The terms “miate” (Sp. slang for “ni**er”) and “juedo” (Sp. slang for “white boy”…which is also a racist slang term) are everyday terms used by the overwhelmingly Latino majority kids (some of whom are Americans) towards black and white kids. And these childish, racist words used by the “Mexican race” aren’t even limited to the kids; the adult stage of the “Mexican race” use them regularly in the workplace & on the street.
Perhaps I’m just being bigoted for exposing their bigotry towards non-Latinos.

I can attest to that, I lived there for a little over ten years. You hear it so often that you don’t even notice it anymore.
If you consider that blacks and whites are a minority in NM wouldn’t it stand to reason that these pejoratives would be considered hate crimes.

I don’t have to cover the cutting in line portion since BLC did that for me, so I will tackle this one.
Nobody with any amount of understanding of the scope of this problem has suggested arresting and deporting all the illegals. If we secure the borders and close off avenues of opportunity for them in the workplace, they will begin deporting themselves. With a border that is under control, there will be far fewer replacements to deal with. Stop creating strawmen to tear down. The pro illegal immigrant crowd here in AZ are already complaining that our new Employer Sanction law that suspends business licenses for those hiring border dashers, is causing illegals to return to Mexico. They see it as a horrible unintended consequence of the law. We who are in favor of the law and would have voted for one like it as a referendum item had it not been enacted by the legislature, see it as an example of a law that works just fine. The law is being contested by the other side, but it is winning so far. The challenge was tossed out of court here in the state, and they are threatening to take it to the 9th Circus now. They say it is unconstitutional for the state to enforce federal immigration law. A bogus claim on its face. The beauty of this is that it really is not an immigration law, but an employment law, which the state has every right to enact and enforce.
Your side is steadily losing this battle.
As for the “fully integrated” notion, what AlanABQ said.
      Booyah, you loose!

    69. Well, if your best argument is pointing out a typo, you guys are desperate. Almost as desperate as pointing out they have their own slang terms for us, so that makes yours okay.
First, “self-deportation” is a fantasy. Regardless of how bad you make things for them here, it’s still worse in their home countries, and that’s a major disincentive to go home. The fact is that you will have a lot of resistance to any measures. Right now, you have cities like Chicago who have as much as said they will remain “sanctuary cities” and ignore any new laws making life more difficult for undocumented workers.
Second, let’s say you do get Alan’s Redneck Fantasy and you get rid of them? What would be the result? Economic collapse in Mexico and a Chavez-like government in the person of the Andrés López Obrador.
Mexico has a lack of drinkable water, over 40% of the population below the poverty line, serious pollution in the major urban areas, and rampant corruption. simply put, you can’t make life bad enough for them here where they’d want to go back to that.
If you really want to solve the illegal “problem”, you need to fix it at its source, and that would be an economic partnership with the Calderon government to develop economic oppurtunities in Mexico.

    70. Just how does who McAmnesty choose as a VP have anything to do with McAmnesty’s presidency – unless McAmnesty promises to die within the first 100 days?
VP’s do nothing. They rarely affect policy and they certainly would not change McAmnesty’s ruin of the GOP and America. If we “welcome” 12 million illegals, we’ve lost the possibility of ever having a majority again.

    71. 1)Well, if your best argument is pointing out a typo, you guys are desperate.
      2)First, “self-deportation” is a fantasy.
3)Second, let’s say you do get Alan’s Redneck Fantasy and you get rid of them? What would be the result?
4)If you really want to solve the illegal “problem”, you need to fix it at its source, and that would be an economic partnership with the Calderon government to develop economic oppurtunities in Mexico.

      1)Who pointed out a typo?
2)Self deportation is beginning to work in AZ.
3)Hopefully an uprising of the people to overthrow the corrupt government.
4)Back the people in replacing the government. It doesn’t have to be anything like what Chavez has instituted in Venezuela. I would rather use money from our treasury to drag Mexico into the 21st century. They have plenty of resouces to drive a thriving economy for all their citizens. It would be a waste of time to partner with their current government. The money would never benefit those most in need.

    72. //…pointing out they have their own slang terms for us, so that makes yours okay.//
What slang term was he referring to? Was it because we called them “Mexican” or “illegal”? Someone ought to tell him that neither of those terms are slang.
      //develop economic oppurtunities in Mexico.//
That’s a great idea! Why hasn’t anyone thought of that before? Oh, wait…it’s been done. What a shining success that was. Maybe if we “lend” Mexico a ton of money to help their economic incentives… oops, that’s been done too.
OK, what else can we do to continue the problem? How about we try some kind of North American “free trade deal”? Surely that’ll work, right?
      Uh oh!
Mexico’s problems economically & otherwise may be an issue, but they just doesn’t seem to be issues at the top of their lists in their own country. Why is that? Is it because they know that they can just keep sponging & stealing from us, or that they just don’t give a enough of a f*ck to fix it themselves? Why on earth the anyone assumes that we should be responsible in all ways for Mexico is something only they could know.
If you know a person with a substance abuse or gambling problem, you don’t solve it by being an “enabler”. Mexico has lots of problems, but they should not always become ours. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but sadly it’s just the way life works sometimes. Most of the time, natural selection doesn’t even take 198 years…
Maybe Joe should just stick to calling me names. It appears to be the only thing he does well; this whole “thinking & debating” thing just isn’t working out for him.

    73. For me, my reluctance with McCain is all about McCain-Feingold. And i like a guy with some administrative experience (but compared to Billary and Obama, he is omniqualified).
I’ll vote for him, but god that will be a reluctant vote. The man is a threat to the republic with his lax attitude about freedom of speech. But not as much of one as bin Laden.
