Comparing Obama to Hitler is stupid and vile. Hitler was a deranged monster, and Obama is an inexperienced idiot who happens to be a racist.
I think it would really suck to be a mainstream, hard-working, educated black person. Can you imagine climbing the ladder the old-fashioned way, by the sweat of your brow, only to have people wonder if you were the result of affirmative action? I am really surprised there are not more mainstream blacks running around telling the NAACP to just shut the f*$% up.

No, we can’t. Hitler didn’t just start the most destructive war in history or murder millions of innocents. Hitler was a leftist who made government controlled healthcare, government domination of the private sector, government controlled this that and the other thing a key part of his “platform” to gain more power in the ’30s. He also had a nasty habit of demonizing his opponents and taking advantage of crises for political gain. Perhaps dear old Benito would be a less controversial comparison, but socialists, fascists, and “progressives” of the past are not all that different from those of the present.

Oddly enough, Wonkette is right in this case. If you watch the entire video it’s obvious that she’s relating an event that led to a personal epiphany… that “it wasnt about black versus white.. it was about haves versus have-nots”. Clearly she’s admitting that she had a bias toward whites at one point but rose above it. Is this the best example of racism in the NAACP ranks that can be found?
I’m a white male and no liberal by any stretch of the imagination, but fair is fair.. Taking snippets of dialogue out of context and posting them as ‘proof’ of some wrong doing is the kind of petty, underhanded, dishonest thing the Lib/Dems do to Tea-Partiers.. Those of us from the center right are (or should be) better than that.
My point is not clear enough. I do not find comparing Hitler to Obama and vice versa to be especially constructive or effective, but I do not necessarily find it “stupid, vile, and over the line”.
Marko has touched on something a lot of people don’t realize, that many policies and beliefs of Nazis were not different from those of Socialists. After all, it was called National Socialism. It’s a historical fact that many Nazis were Communists who wanted a Socialist type party that was nationalistic.

Fine – he’s really more like Benito Mussolini…he wants to be First Marshal of the Empire and create an American Social Republic.

I disagree. I believe it was Shrillary who recently argued that public service (at the level of cabinet positions managing billion-dollar budgets) is not meant to be “a voyage of personal discovery”. The woman in the video felt no shame, was not apologizing, and wasn’t describing a change of policy except perhaps that she’d be more open to letting “their own kind” help white farmers. If she is describing an “epiphany” it is a minor one, probably conjured up as dressing for an interesting speech, and certainly outweighed by the negative. Furthermore, even if she’s repudiating one kind of racism (not wanting to help white farmers), she’s revealing an un-acknowledged racism (“his own kind”) at the same time.
@Jake: We do need to see the entire video. The question — according to what Breitbart had raised — wasn’t whether Sherrod was a racist. He intended to show that the NAACP is racist. Watching the video, it seems she doesn’t get an overly warm reaction from the NAACP audience.
It’s here, baby; it’s just not what you expected. To me, “post racial” means a society in which matters of race are neither deciding nor divisive matters. To the intellectually stunted one in the White House, “post racial” means a society in which all matters of race have already been decided.

Jake I noticed that her borderline epiphany was quickly interrupted by herself when I am guessing it crashed her brain. I think it went like this (said in computer voice) “sympathy for white devil synatax error error error rebooting… original program restored continue pro black racist speaking with no sense of irony” and then she went back to where she started.
