Fast and Furious: Too Horrible to Believe?

So executive privilege! Contempt charges! This would be really, really big news if it weren’t about Democrats.

I think one problem with this Fast and Furious scandal is that it’s just so bad that it’s hard to believe. The average person who doesn’t spend as much attention on these things would hear about Republicans alleging that Obama’s DOJ sold guns to Mexican drug cartels and think, “Well that’s a ridiculous, over the top charge.” Except it’s not a charge; no one is disputing that. It’s so hard to wrap one’s brain around, people keep calling it a “botched” operation even though there is nothing botched about it; selling guns to Mexican drug cartels is exactly what they were planning to do and exactly what they did.

So Republicans want to see certain documents and Obama and Eric Holder don’t want them to see those documents because it would further describe exactly how horrible the Obama DOJ is. So executive privilege — even though Obama claims to have no involvement with Fast and Furious.

Still, strategists are wondering how much Republicans should pursue this as it’s not about jobs but just about negligence leading to hundreds of deaths. Maybe it isn’t the most productive thing to pursue campaign wise, but out of principle I don’t think we should let it go until we at least have Eric Holder’s mustache delivered to us on a platter.

Oh, and of course there are racism charges about all this. I don’t know who is left is so dumb they believe that. If you see Eric Holder and Barack Obama and think anything other than, “What a pair of incompetent buffoons,” then you’re probably a dumb racist.

  1. When democraps vote along party lines to not hold Eric Holder in contempt after obstructing the investigation into his operation that caused the deaths of hundreds (most of them Mexicans, who democraps claim to love), then is there ANY possible scenario in which a democrap will put principles over blind support for the democrap party?

  2. SoB – if the legal case in support of asserting executive privilege is weak (and it appears so) you may well see some House dems vote in favor of contempt – especially those in competitive districts. They’ll know that the courts will toss the EP claim and they don’t want to look like they supported someone who was genuinely in contempt of Congress – especially in a case as despicable as F&F.

So, “is there ANY possible scenario in which a democrap will put principles over blind support for the democrap party”? The answer is “yes” – if the principle is saving their own personal asses over helping their party.

  3. This is a milestone in the democrats relentless pursuit of truth!

Think back. Some years ago, Hillary made the charge that most of the guns going to Mexico were coming from the U.S.; a charge that proved to be less than factual. And now, thanks to F&F, it’s absolutely TRUE!

    Another victory for liberal truth!

  4. This is all racist!.:………….. Holder hates Mexicans.

Think about it, if they respected the humanity of Mexicans as people worthy of
Continued existence the same as Barry or Eric , they wouldn’t have purposely sent guns to Mexico
Knowing full well a body count would stack up.
But Barry & Eric thought of Mexicans as disposible props for thier game, not real people like thier families.
It’s clear as day holder and Barry are racists

  5. Let’s see if I got this straight:
    1. “Botched operation”- If it was a botched operation then whatever documents exist at DOJ would reflect plans made in DC not in the field. Botchiness would not be in DC docs. No need for Executive Privilege.
    2. Holder was never briefed in. If Holder don’t know nothin’ then he could not of briefed or advised the Pres. No consult, no Executive Privilege.
    3. Obama was never informed. If no info was ever transmitted to the Pres then no info was ever Executive. No Pres involvement, No Executive Privilege.

So the President invoked Executive Privilege even though no info ever reached the executive because the guy he’s privileging didn’t know nothing and if he had known anything about anything it doesn’t matter because the guys moving the guns didn’t do what he didn’t tel them do becausen he never told them anything.

Does the President expect anybody to believe that he invoked Executive Privilege regarding information he has triply assured us does not exist.

    Huh?

  6. It was supposed to be “selling guns to Mexican drug cartels”… with RF trackers, hidden cameras, and remote control exploding! I think the guy in charge read the memo and loved it, but a dog ate half of it as it got passed down, and now they feel embarrassed for using a half eaten memo and they don’t want the dog to get in trouble. At least that scenario makes the most sense to me.
