So there is an ad out against Stand Your Ground laws.
Stand Your Ground is nothing but a kids in hoodies massacre!
Wouldn’t a more helpful ad to society, though, be a “Don’t Bash People’s Heads into the Pavement” PSA?
“If Trayvon had just politely told Zimmerman he felt he was wrongly being profiled instead of bashing Zimmerman’s head into the pavement, he’d still be around today. So, don’t bash people’s heads in the pavement. It’s just a bad idea, and in right to carry states, it can get you shot. Maybe you’ll get away with it California or Chicago, but don’t try that crap in Florida. And if you did it in Texas… oh boy. So learn from Trayvon’s mistake. Bashing people’s heads into the pavement: Just don’t do it.”
And what’s the alternative to Stand Your Ground anyway? We’re supposed to run away from criminals? This is America; criminals are supposed to run away from us. Leave your sissy laws in Canada.
But if you still think our self-defense laws are really bad, my recommendation is to avoid them by NOT ATTACKING PEOPLE.
The message of this PSA changes dramatically if you realize that the screams for help are coming from the victim, Zimmerman.
And, how racist is it to have ALL the “victims” be black and in hoodies?
It’s difficult to “stand your ground” when you’re standing on sink holes.
Oh, I’m sorry. I have the Republican Party on the brain, today.
BTW, nice use of all caps, Frank.
He shot violent thugs all over the country? Good for him!
BTW George returned to his car after the “you don’t have to do that” suggestion. This is one of the biggest lies of the Zimmerman/Martin coverage.
Nice editing on the audio, they cut the part where Zimmerman states he is heading back to his vehicle…he was trying to leave when he was attacked. But if that part is brought out it kind of blows the whole “stand your ground is bad” point they are trying to make. They would have had a better add had they just use the scene in Monty Python’s Holy Grail where they are all running away shouting “Run Away!” The text at the end “Our laws should protect victims. Not make more.” does not make the point of getting rid of stand your ground or for more gun control. If a person things about it logically it actually makes the point for stand your ground and easing gun restrictions…but we are not dealing with logical people.
“Stand your ground” had nothing to do with Zimmerman’s trial. He declined the “stand your ground” hearing. His defense was that he was attacked and acted in self-defense.
The cowards disabled comments AND ratings. I have reposted the video without those silly encumbrances.
