[High Praise! to Oppo for the story link]
To choose which passengers to screen, the TSA paid $1.4 million for a randomizer app that any programmer could whip up in 10 minutes.
To be fair, it WAS tricky getting the TSA’s version to always pick toddlers & wheelchair grannies.
I wonder if the government forced the programmer to sign a non-diss/gloater agreement?
Invoice:
Development: $2000
Dealing with gov procurement process: $ 13,998,000
It would probably take me another five minutes to include the feature to pick toddlers and wheelchair grannies.
Who even needs software? Dice, columns of numbers from a phone book, boarding pass numbers that end in 7, …
So, with the thousands of overpaid “employees” the TSA has, non of them has 7th grade computer skills?
Well there is 12 million dollars getting kicked backed to the Democratic party.
Shameless plug
My app tells you how to generate random numbers and it’s only $4 https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/coders-stone/id1025387750?mt=8
