Ronin Thought of the Day

Today’s wisdom comes from the learned samurai James Madison:

A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained in arms, is the best most natural defense of a free country.

Continue to prepare oneself for battle daily, as you are the main defense of our liberty.

  1. Wait! You mean to say that Madison not only believed that people should own weapons, but that they should be trained in how to best use them? But this goes against everything liberals believe in! Oh well, who cares what they think anyway?

  2. Thank the Lord, and pass the ammunition. BTW Kane, you’re a moroooon. The NG was born from the Civil War when states formed their own regular forces. Militias, are citizen irregulars; us you evil monkey commie spawn of Satan.

  3. “To be swayed neither by the opponent nor by his firearm is the essence of marksmanship.”
    -Miyamoto Musashi (paraphrased)
“Conquering evil, not the opponent, is the essence of marksmanship.”
    -Yagyu Munenori (paraphrased)
Know your soul and strive for purity, for once one masters himself he can be mastered by no one else.

  4. The 2nd Amendment is about individual onwership of arms to deter an abusive government. The National Guard may be “Federalized” by the central government at any time, thus making is an agent of the Feds.
Having spent 24 years in the National Guard (15 of which as a full-time Technician), I know that the National Guard is not what Madison envisioned in his wiritngs supporting the 2nd Amendment. The National Guard is a military force used at the state-level by the Governor to supplement law enforcement agencies, as needed. To the Feds, its a military force to augment the Regular Forces, as needed.
The National Guard is an agency of the GOVERNMENT. It’s weapons are locked in high security vaults under the control of Federally-paid employees. The National Guard is only marginally a force of the people. It is, again, an agency of the GOVERNMENT.
Remember — governments prefer to deal with unarmed peasants.
Stockpile weapons and ammunition — preferbly in common calibers used by military forces (this eases resupply)!
    Reflect upon this and ponder.
