Sensei Winston Churchill was to have said:
Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth and easy, or that anyone who embarks on the strange voyage can measure the tides and hurricanes he will encounter. The statesman who yields to war fever must realize that once the signal is given, he is no longer the master of policy but the slave of unforeseeable and uncontrollable events.

Unless of course you fight a “sensitive” war, then you can plan blind dates and slumber parties with your enemies!!
Does this apply if we go to war because we have to instead of all the times we wanted to?

Would it make it collapse on itself? Would it increase it? Would it turn it into smaller more dangerous tornados? Is it smart to “play God” like that?
Why, Protagonist, you little unilateralist you. We should let the U.N. try to negotiate with hurricanes.
I think all of you may be missing the point of the quote. Churchill is saying that war should not be entered into lightly, or thought that war can be won easily. This is what he learned in the First World War, when the powers thought they would win easily beacuse they were on the side of “right”.
Isn’t this exactly what Bush didn’t understand going into Iraq? Mission Accomplished, Candies and Flowers and all that crap?
IMAO: Ronin Thought of the Day
Amazing that what Winston stated is not a part of our understanding of war.
