We got 10th place in the Weblog awards for the humor category. That’s certainly a big drop from second from last year, but Scrappleface only got 7th as well.

We did get a healthy third for best podcast with MuggleCast winning with 64% of the vote. There may actually be a new IMAO podcast before Christmas, BTW, since all the other bloggers are hyped about doing one.
As for me, this will probably be my last post for a while. I’d like to thank LA County for being faster than advertised about getting me a new, certified birth certificate so I can go on my cruise tomorrow. I’m hella busy at work, will probably be in late today, but then I have two worry-free weeks to spend with my wife, the lovely and talented SarahK. We get back from the cruise on Christmas Eve, and, while I won’t guarantee anything, we might have some pictures to put up. If I don’t see you until then, have an honorable Christmas, ronin.

I figure Jesus’ General (or whatever it’s called) score so high because there just aren’t that many liberal humor blogs that are funnier than a puddle of rainwater. It therefore had no apprecialble competition for the idiotarian vote. The enlightened, reasoned, votes of the conservatives (neo and not-so-neo) were hotly contested, by contrast.
I recently stumbled on you guys by way of Instapundit, and voted for you even though I’d already voted for Jeff. I mean, what the hell? It’s not like Jeff ever gave me a damn thing? And, he doesn’t have a podcast.
Anyway, if I owned a production studio I’d be courting you guys because the era of liberal (in the thuggish rather than the classical sense) humor is about over. They’ve put all their money on one roll of the dice (the notion that, to coin a phrase): BushliedusintoIraq-andwe’redestinedtolose-nomatterwhat-andthe Rathermemoswereabsolutelytrueeventhoughtherearen’tany1970stypewritersthatcantypethosedocuments-soit’sallaplotofthe-vastrightwingPowerlineconspiracy).

btw my favorite was the one that seems to infer 1. George W. Bush, and not “insurgents”, killed people who voted. 2. Iraqi’s voting is somehow a bad thing (porbably racist too).
Anyways, you’d score higher if you had more In My World posts and Editorials. Those have always been what made this blog great…well…that and Filthy Lies about Glenn Reynolds. And there just haven’t been well, any of those lately.

Honestly Frank J. you are the funniest guy on here, everyone else seems to be generally poor on humor though they have occasionally funny posts (spacemonkey’s Tookie posts and the Holocaust post by Laurence for example) but it’s another reason why group blogs aren’t as good as single owner blogs IMO.

good job on the humor thing. and as far as I am concerned, you actually are higher than number 10 because some of 1-9 aren’t BLOGS at all (I like Day by Day, but that’s a comic-strip, not a blog… etc).
