New Poll: What would YOU do?

Your wife has breast cancer but you are running for president. What should you do?
Continue running and blame the Republicans.
Stay at home and care for your wife as she battles a deadly disease.
Leave home and let the servants take care of her.
Remind people of the need for government healthcare.
Look at records. See if there’s anyone you can sue.
Keep talking about breasts in hopes that people will think of you as the “next Bill Clinton.”

  1. Of course, any reasonable person would pick option number two. I did.
Of course, Edwards doesn’t seem to be reasonable, and I would not be surprised if he put his wife on the back burner to continue his campaign. That, to me, makes him worthy of snarky posts like this one.

  2. I say continue running and blame the Republicans. That’s what Elizabeth wants. If Elizabeth’s cancer takes a turn for the worse and he decides to drop out there is still no good reason to stop blaming Republicans. The Bush administration has screwed up just about everything and the Republican party (aka Bushies) have let them do it. The Republican party was better when they were not Bushies. Back then they focused on a small government and fiscal responsibility. But the last six years they have pledged blind allegiance to Bush and focused on making the federal government much more massive, creating an enormous deficit and allowing the dollar to plummet 20 to 30% compared to other currencies like the Euro. Get ready for a recession and rising inflation because it is coming. This administration has left no way to it avoid now that the housing market is collapsing. Way to go Bushies. Anyone who supports Bush has absolutely no choice but to use the goofy name of Bushie because Rove’s recently discovered letter said this is what Bush calls his followers. If you support Bush and Rove then you must love being called a Bushie. If you support Bush you also get branded with the childish pet name. Ha ha. Many of you are stupid loyal Bushies. So funny. I LOL at you.

  3. I am scared that her struggle and possible death during the campaign will fuel support for his presidency.
I’m really scared this thought went through his mind as he was making his decisions.
I’m absolutely petrified that this conversation was had between John, Elizabeth, and campaign advisors and factored heavily into the decision.

  4. For the record, her cancer is stage 4, which means it is incurable. Its metastatic, so if it stays where it is she may be able to stay alive for a while, but if it spreads to any more important areas…
PS: Trust me on this, I work in UNC hospitals near people who know doctors, which makes me a reliable medical source. Note: none of the above is inside information, it was all obtained from regular news sources

  5. Actually, OhioNora, I would have thought a lot better of him if he’d acted like a real man and dropped out to take care of his wife.
But no, imaginary Presidential aspirations are much more important. Now I think even less of Edwards, and I never thought that would be possible.
