Ideally for me the drug laws would lean way more to the Libertarian view. But it always strikes me as fitting when a politician who helps imprison drug users finds himself taking all measures he can to keep a family member out of jail.

Things like that is what creates the stigma and problems that people who legitimately require that type of medicine have to put up with.. daily.
I would bet he wasn’t driving a gas-saving electric or solar powered car when he was caught.
It would also be a safe bet he won’t do a day in jail over this incident, and this isn’t his first drug offense either.
