Something about that story on wounded veterans being told to pay back a portion of their signing bonus seemed fishy. If that had really been going on since the war began, don’t you think we’d have heard about it years ago? Ends up theres only been two or three incidents of this, and they were all clerical errors.
It reminds me of that body armor crap. The media and the Democrats jumped on an issue they didn’t understand because it let them condemn the Bush administration as not caring about the troops (projection) and gave them a way to act like they cared for the military in a way that doesn’t help the war effort (if they had instead thought they heard that our troops were not getting the special guns they need for shooting terrorists in the face, they wouldn’t have made that an issue). No one actually believes the liberals care more about body armor for our troops than conservatives, though. We all know the media and the Democrats actually despise the troops and, if they had to pick between our troops getting body armor or more of them being killed to further fit the liberal narrative on the war, that’s not exactly Sophie’s choice.
Really, liberals, leave the caring about our troops to conservatives. We’re doing just fine ourselves and we know the distaste it leaves in your mouths.

It was a snafu, part of the rich history of the American military. Bureaucracies are inherently filled with problems like this. I never did so much paperwork as I did when I was a soldier, from Day 1 of Basic traing to the day I outprocessed at Fort Dix. It was endless, tedious, mind-numbing and it made me want to gouge my own eyes out with my black ink (no blue ink) pen sometimes. Or better yet, stab the punk-ass specialist clerk with the God complex right in the carotid artery. Staff pukes, grrr!
I have to agree with PaleoMedic there. Lord, when I had my appendectomy (courtesy of the U.S. Army) I had to sign more forms than I thought existed. At one point, after quite a few drugs were flowing through my system, I believe I told them that I didn’t care if I was dead, disabled, or had my head replaced with a kitchen blender, as long as I quit hurting.
On the subject of the post, good job FrankJ. They (the liberals) know they don’t really care, they just like to grab onto odd issues that make them seem like they care. What a farce. Just admit it, you goobers: you want us to lose, you want us to withdraw, and you would dearly love for more terrorist attacks on the United States in the hopes that people will run to you and your misguided notions of government. Just go back to your basements and let the adults handle caring about the troops and defeating our enemies.
There are paperwork screwups all the time in the military. When I went to outprocess in Camp Hansen in Okinawa, they told me that I would owe almost 1000 dollars, because somewhere along the line, the Marine Corps had put me on commrats, without telling me, or taking away my meal card. They said I spent 6 months getting paid, and using the chow hall. It turned out that a different guy, with a SSN# one digit off from mine had gone on commrats, but they had put it down in my file. I never even really got the money. It took almost a month to sort out though, and was a huge pain in my butt for a while.
As for liberals caring more about body armor, that is hilarious. A buddy of mine went to Afghanistan with the 26th MEU in 2001, wearing brand new, just issued body armor. A 7.62 round hit him square in the chest, but his shiny new armor stopped it (he has a cool picture). This armor was paid for by a defense appropriation bill that John Kerry voted against in the Senate. Eric called me up in 2004 and said to vote for anyone but Kerry, because that man had tried to kill him. Shows how much Johnny cared about body armor before he made it an issue in 2004
I’ts unfortunate that the Democratic party has allowed itself to be kidnapped by the tree-hugging surrender-monkey’s. It’s eerily like that poor girl in Utah abducted by that homeless freak-nik. America used to have two political parties that cared about the troops. Now the Defeatocrats are so invested our losing that nothing but our total defeat will satisfy them. Beware, there are also people who call themselves Republican’s who would do the same. Compassionate Conservatives my ass. There are many paths to the darkside.
Has anyone heard the sound byte of Murtha admitting that the troop surge is working? I have no links, since I heard it the other day on Limbaugh. This should hit IMAO front page.
We could killm two birds with one stone. We could start issuing liberals to our soldierd to use as body armor. There is a downside, though. Since most liberals are namby-pampby wimps, you’d need about a dozen to make an effective shield. That might get a little cumbersome. But, it would consume lots of liberals in the process.
Liberals care so much about our troops that they want them all home now so they won’t have the stress and bother of trying to pull a victory out of Iraq. Once they’re home, the liberals will invite them over for punch and cookies and they’ll all become lifelong friends because liberals and our soldiers have SO much in common.
That’s how much liberals care about our troops.
the liberals will invite them over for punch and cookies
But who gets to throw out the first punch?
Just like when the Democratic politicians in office put forth the bill to reinstate the draft so that the Democratic politicians running for office could campaign on the “the Bush administration wants to reinstate the draft so you’d better vote for me” ticket
The armor issue is dead, and was only used as another anti-POTUS missile system.
The real question should have been:
“More armor? Have any of you fags ever chased haji through an alley or across a beet-field, wearing an IBAS laden with more crap–weighing altogether more than the little f**ker you want to catch?”
Or even…
“You don’t like it when we shoot them for running away, but you want to make it impossible to run after them. Since you can’t make up your mind, or make up our minds for us, I think we’ll just…shoot them.”
