Dumb Doctors

So there’s this Reuters article about how some doctors are all worried about the Heller decision. Basically the doctors say, “Guns go bang! Guns bad! Wagga wagga!” How stupid are the people they’re letting be doctors these days? Did they get PhDs in getting their head stuck in a bucket? These people are so dumb we should make them wear pointy hats and oven mits and slap fight each other in an arena. Eventually they’ll beg for a gun to end their miserable existences, but they can’t have one.
And what a bang up job by Reuters. They just have a whole article of people who don’t know what the hell they’re talking about and they don’t even think to ask for a contrary opinion. What I don’t understand is it’s these people’s job to report the news — it’s what they get paid for — and they don’t even care. In a just world, people with a work ethic like that would be hobos.

  1. Dippy Doc’s say: “…research has shown and logic would dictate that fewer restrictions on handguns will result in a substantial increase in injury and death,”…”
No, it doesn’t on both counts. Not only do these pompous licksphincters fail to offer any hard evidence or name this alleged “research”, they also offer:
“Firearm injuries represent a major public health problem that seems certain to be exacerbated with less handgun regulation.”
“Seems certain”?? WTF kind of fact-based analysis is that?
These are the same dipwads whose ancestors waddled about spouting about the “obvousness, and certainty that the Earth is flat! Why just look at it!”
    Men of Science? Hah!
They’ve been sniffing the specimen jars for far too long.

  2. You fail to understand. Rueters pays reporters to write liberal op-ed pieces, which they can then call “news”. If you really think about the irony of it, JAMA publishes an opinion article (for the reporters out there, it is only opinion unless you can back up what you’re saying with facts, and no, conventional wisdom does not count as facts), which Rueters picks up, endorses the opinion, and publishes the fact that liberals favor gun control as though that were news. In a just world, the Rueters executives and most college journalism professors would be considered underqualified for panhandling on freeway entrances.

  3. What I don’t understand is how anyone here cam be surprised at this story. We should know that retarded stories like this are going to appear in the news.
Liberals for the most part are emotional, and you don’t need logic, facts, or life experience when you have deep seeded belief. They believe all firearms serve only one purpose, to make other humans dead. So they come to this conclusion, More guns = more Death.
It’s probably for the best that they don’t own a fire arm. They would probably shoot themselves trying to put the safety on. You may be asking “Big Richard, How in the world can anyone do that?!?” Look, They’re Dumb! They think Because you can own a fire arm in D.C, the rest of the country is going to shoot it’s self in retaliation. Stupid people find ways.
I believe all gun opposition starts if you get overly scared the first time you hear a fire arm go of. I’ve been training my son since he was 10 months old by throwing firecrackers in his room at 3AM. At first it scared him, but now he sleeps right through it.

  4. DOCTORS SAY: “BREAD IS DANGEROUS”
    Research on bread indicates that
    1. More than 98 percent of convicted felons are bread users.
    2. Fully HALF of all children who grow up in bread-consuming households score below average on standardized tests.
    3. In the 18th century, when virtually all bread was baked in the home, the average life expectancy was less than 50 years; infant mortality rates were unacceptably high; many women died in childbirth; and diseases such as typhoid, yellow fever, and influenza ravaged whole nations.
    4. More than 90 percent of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread.
    5. Bread is made from a substance called “dough.” It has been proven that as little as one pound of dough can be used to suffocate a mouse. The average American eats more bread than that in one month!
    6. Primitive tribal societies that have no bread exhibit a low incidence of cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, and osteoporosis.
    7. Bread has been proven to be addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water to eat begged for bread after as little as two days.
    8. Bread is often a “gateway” food item, leading the user to “harder” items such as butter, jelly, peanut butter, and even cold cuts.
    9. Bread has been proven to absorb water. Since the human body is more than 90 percent water, it follows that eating bread could lead to your body being taken over by this absorptive food product, turning you into a soggy, gooey bread-pudding person.
    10. Newborn babies can choke on bread.
    11. Bread is baked at temperatures as high as 400 degrees Fahrenheit! That kind of heat can kill an adult in less than one minute.
    12. Most American bread eaters are utterly unable to distinguish between significant scientific fact and meaningless statistical babbling.
In light of these frightening statistics, it has been proposed that the following bread restrictions be made:
    1. No sale of bread to minors.
    2. A nationwide “Just Say No To Toast” campaign, complete celebrity TV spots and bumper stickers.
    3. A 300 percent federal tax on all bread to pay for all the societal ills we might associate with bread.
    4. No animal or human images, nor any primary colors (which may appeal to children) may be used to promote bread usage.
    5. The establishment of “Bread-free” zones around schools.

  5. The article reads:

The court made explicit that Americans had rights as individuals to own guns. It won praise from President George W. Bush, Republican presidential candidate John McCain and guns rights advocates.

Gee – seems like there was some other presidential candidate that claimed to agree with the Supreme Court on this. Who could it be? Who else besides W. and McCain could be so calloused as to claim that they welcomed a decision that doctors say with cause unnecessary deaths? It would have to be someone of low character, obviously. It would have to be someone who cares more about getting elected than about the health and safety of Americans. Who could it be????

  6. First, comment A# 5 is pure genius and I request permission to swipe your intellectual property. If permission is refused, I will do so anyway.
Second, there is an old gimmick were advertisers and politicians will take a person who has no expertise in an area, and hold up their opinion as being that of an expert. Six out of ten moms pick our soda as being healthier then our competitor, a panel of ministers feel that our toothpaste is the best, so on and so forth. Doctors are the most popular group, and you will often see their medical background quoted as making them an expert in fields that have nothing to do with medicine.
My favorite is an anti-Mason crusader who trumpets his background as a pediatrician. Just as pediatrics does not unlock the door to the mystery of ancient religious rites, neither does being a doctor make you an expert on gun policy.

  7. Hey, doctors are highly educated and know what is best for you. That is why we have such clear and consistent dietary guidelines.
So all of you law abiding citizens out there, turn in your guns immediately. We’ll deal with the lawbreakers who actually do most of the shooting later.

  8. Thanks!
“Licksphincter” is personal coinage, suggested by “lickspittle”- 1825: a fawning subordinate : toady (Webster)
There just isn’t a polite way to speculate on the disgusting behavior one suspects of another without a good, simple, descriptive word like that.
Doesn’t even need a definition, either.

  9. The funny part is that the Heller decesion did not change anything,it simply kept what we had. What is new for these so called docs to lament about?
The other thing is I don’t blame the dippy-docs for saying it as much as I do Reuters for repeating it.

  10. Request… could someone provide me with the number of deaths related to medical mistakes VS gun deaths? Also, I would like to see the number of permanent injuries inflicted in operating rooms VS the number of gun related injuries.
I don’t know if it will prove anything or not, but I would like to see the numbers.

  11. In the obscure rural community where I grew up (mid-1900’s) the local sawbones was a transplant from Chicago. Eventaully he groused about how utterly bland and unexciting it was to practice medicine there. Then he would talk about those er, um, “folks” who would start hitting the ER at 2:00am on the weekends all shot up and such. He was an entertaining soul, he was, and I will always remember him remarking that the next time he opened a practice it would be in a town with four taverns & one church, and not the other way around. God Bless his soul.

  12. FACTS TO PONDER :
    (A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.
    (B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.
(Calculation) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171
Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human Services.
    Guns:
    (A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000.
    (Yes, that’s 80 million..)
    (B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.
(Calculation) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188
    Statistics courtesy of FBI
So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
Remember, ‘Guns don’t kill people, doctors do.’
FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.
Please alert your friends to this threat.
We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!

  13. It is vital that we confiscate all guns from doctors’ persons and homes immediately. If they cannot write correct ‘scripts, if they cannot remember to remove gauze and scalpels from tummies and tushies, and if they cannot refrain from removing the wrong limb… then they certainly can’t be trusted with a gun. (We can only hope that many will DROWN within their mucous-y, fermented ignorance while stuck in those buckets… )

  14. Next time I need to fix my car, I think I’ll go ask my bartender. I mean, the guy’s amazing at remembering recipes for drinks noone’s ever heard of, so he must be smart enough to figure out why my transmission is sticking in second gear, right?

  15. I’m going to Physician Assistant school right now in one of the most libtard universities on this green earth. Kills me to step foot in Seattle.
I’m supposed to ask people if they have guns in the home. I’M IN NORTHERN IDAHO! It’s the minority here that don’t have guns.
So many medical schools are pushing Evidence Based Medicine (EBM, for those in the know) as a way to get back to the science of medicine.
Case in point: Stop prescribing antibiotics for every sniffle and sneeze. EBM sez it’s unnecessary, expensive, and in fact detrimental. But as long as the school is headed, filled, and run by knee-jerk fanatical libs? Good luck getting a proper education. And expect stupid questions from your physicians.
Thank God I graduate next month!

  16. HEY FRANK! Stop insulting me and my brothers. I am SHOCKED and OUTRAGED that you would cast aspersions on my chosen lifestyle! GRRRRR! Reuters “correspondents” are not qualified to do anything as rewarding, thoughtful and important as Hobo-ing. Obviously you are unaware that like the rest of the universe, Hobo-ing has grown. Check out how one Hobo lives on my blog. http://exechobo.blogspot.com/ Please be more accurate in future condemnations of this pond scum filthy excuse for ectoplasm.

  17. We’re not ALL anti-gun – some of us feel that it is quackery for a physician to be anti-gun, and for one to even be “neutral” on the issue is pure negligence. Widespread ‘easy access’ to firearms is the proven best way to maintain public safety, and assure social stability.

“…unfortunately, CDC and other health advocate sages build their case not only by
suppressing facts, but by overt fraud, fabricating statistics, and falsifying
    references to support them.[261]”
This is what we’re up against! Aaarrgh…!

  19. 27 – AJMD429 – Well done.
I’d heard of your fine organization several years ago.
It’s good to know you’re still fighting the good fight.
The sort of doctors who jump on every fad liberal bandwagon that rolls by remind me of the sage, learned, wise, expert specialists who took 2000 years to reach a concensus that it might be a good idea if they washed their hands and put out their cigars before attempting major surgery on a unanesthetized patient.
Who knows what conclusions they may reach tomorrow?

  20. “heldmyw”
Thanks for all your wonderful information on bread – I had no idea it was so dangerous. Remember though when bread is outlawed only outlaws will have bread. Some people feel the problem can be best attacked by registering yeast and requiring a carry and raise permit. Also there’s a problem with the sourdough starter loophole.
I believe that the easy way to fix the bread problem is to only allow “freerange” bread. They had done this when Moses led his people out of slavery and they used to collect it in the morning -it was like dew on the ground -or manna depending on your preference.
Remember you’ll get my yeast when you pry it out of my cold dead floury hands.
