Grading Obama

Time has awarded Obama an A- for his presidency so far. Doesn’t make an A+ sound that impressive.

So what has Obama done so far? He’s still black, which was the only accomplishment people could name when he ran for president, but what new things has he done?

* He’s been yelled at.

* He swatted a fly.

* He had a fun trip to Copenhagen.

A minus!

It really seems like the country and the world are on the verge of a huge disaster, but it could just be this same muddled mess for three more years too. So what grade do I give that? A ‘C’ maybe?

What grade do you give Obama and why?

  1. Sorry to disagree but, Obey-me is only half black. He bowed to the Saudi Prince, tried to enter the WH through a window, couldn’t bribe the Olympic committee to award the Olympics to Daley City, and on and on and on….(not to mention he can’t even potty train his puppy- I heard Bo took a dump on AF 1!)
    All in all….EPIC FAIL!!

  2. “The tip of the iceberg”.

    * Reneged on campaign promises regarding Afghanistan. Taliban will be a “partner in peace”. We will leave, giving Afghanistan back as a bastion to Al-Quada. And I’m sure the morale of the U.S. armed forces won’t be lowered at all.
    * Campaign promise to run a clean administration? Flush that turd down the drain, Barry!
    * Stimulus plan will lower unemployment? Flush that turd down the drain, Barry!
    * Iran with nukes? No problem!
    * Who needs to reduce the deficit now when we can just have future generations pay for it.
    * Two words. Sonia Sotomayor.
    * The border with Mexico remains unsecured. Luckily, Barry will fix this problem by turning the U.S. into a worse hellhole than Mexico.
    * “Hey, is everyone okay with letting the Russians take back Eastern Europe? Thanks.”

Simply put, Obama is a disaster with effects that will hurt this country and the rest of the world for generations. I’d list more, but I don’t have four spare hours at the moment.

    I give him a Q+

  3. your all looking at this grading system from the wrong perpective.

if the grade is based on how much damage he could cause to our economy, our troops moral, our standing in the world as a force to be reckoned with, our safety, our treatment of allies, and kowtowing to enemies and a myriad of other highly destructive things,

well he definatley deserves an A- I beleeive hes’ done a superb job at all of those things

Actually I think he should get an A+ for those.

  5. At making me understand that the worst is yet to come, I give him and Congress an A, Frank.

At representing me? He and they get F’s.

Why? You mean I have to show my work? Sorry, I’m not feeling funny today.

  6. Even if we used a bell curve and set Grover Cleveland as the standard of a what a passing grade is for presidents, the only people lower than him would be Carter, but not by much and Andrew Johnson because he was only a figure head because ever bill he vetoed was overturned by Congress. Obama falls into the bottom 1% where my dog could do a better job of running the country.

  7. Overall, Obama gets a C. The breakdown:

    Economics – D

His Healthcare and Cap & Tax plans are paralyzing the employment market. Debt is ballooning and the dollar will soon be equal value with the Mexican Peso. He gets a partial save, however, because the stock market has been doing well the last 4 months. I don’t think the stock market improvement has anything to do with Obama’s dithering, but it gets him out of the F. If the market tanks again, this grade goes down.

    Foregin Policy – D

There’s a litany a f-ups. His save is that he has kept the Bush policy in Iraq. If he fumbles Iraq, this goes to F.

    Music Appreciation – A
Kids really like to sing Obama songs.

2 “D”s and an “A” —- Ergo “C” is the correct overall grade.

  8. Presuming Obama will be a one term president, and that the Iranian nuking of Israel and/or New York City will not occur until after the next (Republican) president is sworn in, does Obama still get the credit/blame for the nuking?

Or does the mathematical relationship of “Republicans bad, Democrats good” hold even in the case of nuclear attacks?

  9. puppet hussein so far gets an I.

Thank God that ignorant turd hasn’t done anyof these yet.

    Close gitmo
    Healthcare reform
    Higher taxes
    Higher taxes
    Even higher taxes
    Taxes on Healthcare
    Taxes on taxes
    Value added tax
    Lose in Afghanistan
    Lose in Iraq
    Get rid of all nukes

Some things to look forward to:
    Higher taxes
    Even higher taxes on taxes
    Healthcare reform
    All mexicans becomming citizens
    All illegals voting openly
    Losing in Afghanistan
Turning of our military over to the u.n.
harpo winfried as sec of state

  11. Are we grading him on whether he’s done (in a more or less specific sense) what he’d said he do? As SNL so clearly illustrated, no! He definitely gets an “F” there, though that could change with time.

Are we grading him on whether he’s done what he tried to do? This differs in that it would still include Gitmo and Iraq, but would also include Copenhagen. It would not include the Auto bailout. Here, he gets an F-.

  12. Since he has pretty much failed to complete any of his assignments, had others write his papers for him (Reid, Pelosi), and does nothing but talk in class; I’d give him an Incomplete and recommend that he drop the course.

  13. Maybe Time was using the Resident Evil 4 grading system. C, B, A, S. A- is like a 2.25/4 on that scale.

I’d give him an Incomplete. Do something or you fail this semester young man.

  14. A solid B, for 2, maybe 3 reasons.

    1) Present.

That’s a good achievement, considering that he took off for a quick vacation some time shortly after he took office; I can’t find any documentation of it now but remember it clearly as giving the impression that he had finally realized exactly what he had gotten into and had a very bad OMG moment about it all. I could be wrong, but that’s what it seemed like. And then he went back and picked up the burden. That took guts.

    2) Those 3 dead Somali pirates. No pirate has attacked Americans in the region again, AFAIK.

Maybe 3) Technically the grading was for the first 100 days, but I’m adding a possible third reason on account of current events. It may be that publicly he dithered around on General McChrystal’s request, knowing the award was in the works, and now that it’s in, will go ahead with the troop increase. I hope. That would be a way cool response to the Committee, too.

“Time,” OTOH, gets an “F” but that’s hardly news, except to its faithful readers, who apparently have a strong wish to remain uninformed and insulated from reality.

  15. He gets a D – he’s failing in his basic grasp of the work and he’s showing neither the aptitude nor the inclination to put in the work to improve. When he should be cracking the books, he opts instead for a road trip or a date night.

  16. For almost each and every day of his presidency so far He has been a jaw dropping failure. I am suprised now when a day goes by without a new epic failure. I think I would still see it that way from the left if my politics swung that way.

I don’t know how anyone right or left can be happy with the job he is doing. i am not a birther but some days I wish the were right.

  17. He has failed so miserably he needs to be removed from the Whitehouse he uses as a classroom and put in remedial classes. He needs a father figure. Let’s see, how about entering him into Rush’s baby classes. Then we can get him some tutoring. But strictly off campus.

  18. F minus minus minus in economics; needs to have a real job first.

F plus minus plus in military affairs; doesn’t trust the pointy end of the stick.

D minus plus minus in international affairs; “Oh Say Kenya See, By The Dawn’s…”

F plus plus minus in domestic affairs; doesn’t play well with critics.

    B plus plus plus in gym, needs work on his layups;

C minus plus minus in lunch break; more red meat is needed.

He needs to be stood in the corner with the stool and the dunce cap rammed up his ass.

  19. I wonder if thinks that if you fail you get to repeat the course (2012)? Mr. Obama has not shown even a basic understanding of the course after almost a year of study, I could not offer more that a 52% for his efforts to date. Base on the recommendation of the Nobel board he is to be recommended to continue the course untill total failure is achieved.

  20. Hey! That “maybe 3” is looking more definite:

In an unannounced move, President Barack Obama is dispatching an additional 13,000 US troops to Afghanistan beyond the 21,000 he announced publicly in March, The Washington Post reported Monday.

Its the top story at http://www.washingtonpost.com (I’d give a link but you have to register; it’s free, if you want to). Full story by AFP on the WaPo’s story, with most all of the info but fewer discouraging words, at http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5iib4Hqjl8CvuE70YOf330xDaPoEQ .

Supposedly they’re support troops, but it includes intelligence officials and MPs, too. I’ve been reading about both of these units in the current war on terror (never mind the BS name the current crop of politicians wants to call it) at StrategyPage:

–“Intelligence: The Great Afghanistan Pile-On”: http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htintel/20090922.aspx , September 2009. (Note that they mention what this has all come down to in Afghanistan: drugs. Nobody mentions the drugs, except SP. They should, and not just with the Taliban, either, i.e., FARC, et al.)

–“Women in Combat”: http://www.strategypage.com/dls/articles2005/200578224645.asp , July 2005 (describes how MPs get close to combat).

No word from Oslo yet, but I’ll bet the WaPo has its people over there right now, camped out on front doors or waiting by the phone for a return call.

So, at the close of a holiday weekend, they leak some name-calling that totally inflames the left Internet fringe, and under the cover of the resulting fire and smoke, they raise the troop counts.

Heh. Time is gonna flunk him, but I’m starting to think that A- isn’t such a bad grade after all. Have to see how this all plays out first, though.
