The Gauntlet

So is the Democrats taking over health care ever going to end? It’s like Jason; we think we kill it and it just keeps coming back. But guess what comes after health care?

Amnesty!

Basically, we have a gauntlet of crap legislation. It’s like they’re just trying to wear us down on outrage before the midterm election. Still, we just have to get to November, elect enough Republicans, and put a stake in the heart of all the silliness Obama is trying to do once and for all.

If we do get a Republican majority, what’s that going to be like with Obama as president? Here’s my recommendation:

OBAMA: I have this new idea–

REPUBLICANS: No.

OBAMA: You didn’t even hear it! It’s–

REPUBLICANS: No.

OBAMA: But I really think–

REPUBLICANS: No.

OBAMA: You’re just a party of “no”!

REPUBLICANS: Why do you say that?

OBAMA: You say no to everything I say.

REPUBLICANS: We say no to stupid things. You only say stupid things. So, yeah, I guess that follows.

OBAMA: Can you at least allocate federal funds to get me an iPad?

REPUBLICANS: No.

OBAMA: YOU’RE THE MEANEST CONGRESS EVER!!! WAAAAAH!!!

  1. Democrats are 4X as guilty since they spend 4X the money because the main stream media on their side.

Thus choose the lesser of 2 evils …the republicans until they are taken over by the tea party revolution ….and then keep voting republican because it will be a lot better than the alternatives.

I do not see how the democrats can be salvaged other than to be a repository of stupid voters who can not see a con job when they hear it or are too greedy to forgo the free government cheese.

Democrats just can’t hear a bad idea even if it is right in front of their face.

  2. Exactly, Jimmy. Our opponents are not strong, but we must have people in the right places. And that is what concerns me about 2012. I’m not at all convinced that Mitt Romney can do the job that will be asked of the next President.

  3. SFB: Can you at least allocate federal funds to get me an iPad?

Real Americans: Why? you’ll just eat the stylus.

SFB: You say no to everything I say.

Real Americans: Cause you have never said anything about getting a job.

SFB: You’re just a party of “no”!

Real Americans: And yet you still don’t understand.

  4. I’d give Obama the money for an iPad, in the hopes that he’d become so enthralled by his new toy that he’d stop pushing stupid legislation. I’d insist that we buy an iPad for Nancy Pelosi, and one for Harry Reid, too, for the same reason, and I’d want to throw in somebody for each of them to help each of them use it.

  5. Oh come on, now. You’ve got to feel a little sad for the democrats. After all, they’re running out of stuff to destroy. They live to destroy all that is good, and there’s almost nothing left that they haven’t already destroyed.

    1) Destroy entertainment industry – check
    2) Destroy schools and universities – check
    3) Destroy housing market – check
    4) Destroy economy – check
    5) Destroy banking industry – check
    6) Destroy auto industry – check
    7) Destroy healthcare industry – check

All that’s left is destroying what’s left of our borders and destroying the few remaining successful companies with Cap & Tax, and then what’s left for them to screw up next?

  6. McCain: We should vote for Amnesty!
    J.D. Hayworth: No.
    McCain: You’re a Raaaaacist!
    J.D. Hayworth: No.
    McCain: You’re a Birther!
    J. D. Hayworth: No.
    McCain:I’m a Fiscal Conservative!
    J.D Hayworth: No.
McCain: Cap & Tax is good for America!
    J.D. Hayworth: No.
    McCain:You’re the Candidate Of No!
J.D. Hayworth: You’re the Candidate That LOST TO OBAMA.
    (Silence)
McCain: We should vote for Amnesty!

  7. > Dain Ironfoot
    > I think you mean “gantlet”

“Gantlet” would be an ordeal, like the running between two lines of challengers.
“Gauntlet” would be a challenge, like the throwing down of the glove in medieval times.

Frank could say which he meant, but as I read it, either works.

Unless “gantlet” is Frank’s nickname for his toilet. That would work, too.

  8. He said “Basically, we have a gauntlet of crap legislation”

So – we have “a glove of crap legislation”? I don’t think so.

We really do have to “run the gantlet” of DEM legislation. It IS an “ordeal” – as you said.

[Oh, for Pete’s sake, in the U.S. “gauntlet” is the preferred spelling. I’ve never seen anyone use “gantlet” before. Look up gauntlet in any dictionary and you’ll see the definition I used. You’re wrong, and your persistence only increases it. -Ed.]

  9. gaunt·let1   /ˈgɔntlɪt, ˈgɑnt-/ Show Spelled[gawnt-lit, gahnt-] Show IPA
    –noun
1.a medieval glove, as of mail or plate, worn by a knight in armor to protect the hand.
2.a glove with an extended cuff for the wrist.
    3.the cuff itself.

Just because you haven’t seen something, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Just sayin’
