The Perfect Description of the Liberal Worldview

[High Praise! to Transterrestrial Musings]

You sent a message to America in your re-election campaign. Therefore you sent a message to the world. The message is that we live in a zero-sum universe.

There is a fixed amount of good things. Life is a pizza. If some people have too many slices, other people have to eat the pizza box. You had no answer to Mitt Romney’s argument for more pizza parlors baking more pizzas. The solution to our problems, you said, is redistribution of the pizzas we’ve got-with low-cost, government-subsidized pepperoni somehow materializing as the result of higher taxes on pizza-parlor owners.

Made Up Guns

Just in case you missed it, here’s a reminder I had a column over the weekend at PJ Media on how we can make everyone happy by just passing pretend gun control. Gun control proponents won’t be able to tell the difference between this and real gun control, it should have about the same effectiveness, and it won’t make gun owners angry; everybody wins.

Frank J. the Novelist

It’s getting kind of hard for me to concentrate on this blog or anything else right now because… I’m almost done with my first novel manuscript! SarahK and I are in the process of the final read through (she already did the major editing) getting rid of the last few errors and then I just need to format it right and I’m done (for some reason, I wrote it with a space between each paragraph like I do blog posts and I found out you’re not supposed to do that so I have to find a way to easily get rid of a million blank lines interspersed throughout).

Anyway, it’s a complete rewrite of a story I did a long while back piece by piece on my blog, Superego, done so now it’s a full sized novel. It follows some of the same plot, but there’s only maybe a sentence or two from the original in the new version as it was basically written from scratch (and expanded from 40,000 words to over 100,000).

Once the manuscript is done, then it will be time to try and get it published. I’m going to try to get a traditional publisher (I mean, I am already a published author — just not in fiction), but in the least I’ll self-publish as it is really good and I can’t wait for more people to read it.

So, that’s my big thing right now. And I’m actually over 90,000 words into the first draft of another novel, though it will probably be quite a while until that one is ready. So I’m going to be a novelist; we’ll just see how successful a one.

Obama’s Final Speech (Of This Term)

So Obama is going to give his last press conference of his first term today. It seems like Obama has done nothing but talk his first term, but now we get it one last time — before we get four more years of it.

Anyway, it’s supposed to be on the debt ceiling and gun control, so here’s the expected transcript:

I’m going to keep spending and spending and never stop and you can’t make me so just raise the debt ceiling! Come on, guys! Just do it! I want to spend some more!

And gimme all your guns! Well, I don’t mean all your guns; I know that’s not politically possible. So just the scary ones. Like the loud ones. Gimme ’em! Eric Holder needs more guns to sell in Mexico.

Just realized: While I’m talking, I’m not spending. Gotta go!

Yay. Four more years.

Random Thoughts: Computers, High Capacity Magazines, and Violence

I like how computer games tell you not to turn off the computer when you see the save symbol. How about you just never suddenly turn off the computer?

Thanks, media, for getting to the bottom of the “Alex Jones is crazy” story. Great investigative journalism.

If the mafia just declares itself a media outfit, its members could get away with a ton of stuff.

Because D.C. has a ban on high capacity magazines, no one is ever shot there.

If you’re in D.C. and murder someone with a gun with a high capacity magazine in it, you’re breaking the law. Unless you’re a journalist.

Drink from a 16 oz cup and fire from a 10 rd magazine or Bloomberg will get you!

What if Congress does a study on video game violence and its only conclusion is that it’s awesome?

Wow, I didn’t know until Twitter that people actually watch the Golden Globe awards. Aren’t the Golden Globes just a low rent Oscars?
