On Meet the Press, Mayor Bloomberg said “I do think there are certain times we should infringe on your freedom”.
A British King thought that once. How’d that work out?

Well, the king in question ruled for 60 years, so that’s not too good. However, the last ten years were spent as a dramatically insane and demented cripple, unable to care for his own daily needs or cleanliness. So there’s that.
See this is exactly why we need first class history teachers in schools. Most of the head scratchers out there have NO idea that a king actually said this much less which king said it. They probably can’t tell you which century the Revolutionary War was in or who the US fought against or why they went to war in the first place.
What we don’t need is football, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, wrestling, gymnastics, cheer squad coaches who don’t have training in history, who didn’t specialize or major in history teaching history/ civics classes because “any idiot can teach history.” Don’t say it doesn’t happen because I can guarantee you it does. (I tried to get my teaching certificate but was told my local university wouldn’t let me specialize in secondary history/civics -I have a BA in History and 3.78 GPA- because there weren’t any jobs for history teachers.) Most of them are taken by coaches.

I mean, I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money. But, you know, part of the American way is, you know, you can just keep on making it if you’re providing a good product or providing good service.
