WHAT They’re Asking for Isn’t the Problem

Michelle Obama described her healthy vision as “imagine our kids begging and pleading, throwing tantrums to get you to buy more fruits, vegetables and whole grains.”

No thanks. I’d rather have them ask politely for candy.

  1. i’m trying hard to remember just who elected her anything.

her nutritional expertise also seems limited as she is a lawyer without a license, not a nutritionist.

other than for appetizers in the Star Wars Bar, i don’t see a reason to listen to her.

  2. Well, therein lies the nub of the distinction.

Rich liberals LIKE the sound of “gimmee, gimmee, gimmee.” It makes them feel so beneficent. They want to perpetuate it. In addition, it gives them a great excuse to expropriate other peoples’ money to assuage it.

The word “assuage” is usually used with “guilt,” but that is a matter for psychologists to take up.

Poor liberals like making the sound, knowing that rich liberals will fight tooth and nail to use other people’s money to assuage it. It makes them feel like someone ‘up there’ cares.

The term “someone ‘up there’ ” is another matter for psychologists to take up.

Conservatives just don’t like the sound at all. They sympathize with those who are making it, and want it to top. By equal efforts, if necessary, of those chanting it and those hearing it.
