Most of your questions sent in to Ask IMAO Anything were already answered. The crack team that provided the answers included:
- tankdemon
- walruskkkch
- veeshir
Bacon to you one and all!
Now for the questions that were not answered.
Um.
Hmmm.
They were all answered. Every one of them. How about that.
So, I suppose I could tap-dance for a bit, huh.
Nope. Not happening.
So, what do we do? Well, actually, this isn’t a bad thing. I don’t have to come up with answers to questions, so it’s easier on me, right? Yep. I mean, y’all did a great job of answering questions, and that was fun. I enjoyed it.
So, here’s what we’ll do now. I’ll ask some questions and y’all can answer them, if you like. Of course, you can still leave questions for next time, and y’all can answer those. And, like always, any that aren’t answered, I’ll answer next time.
Let’s do this.
Questions for you, before you give questions for me.
Why do they call it after dark when it’s really after light?
Why do we use capital letters but not capital numbers?
Why do they call it a pair of pants but only one bra?
During tourist seasons, can we shoot them?
That’ll get you started.
Remember that you can Ask IMAO Anything. Just leave your question in the comments, or email us at Ask.IMAO.Anything@gmail.com.
Questions in the comments will likely be answered in the comments; those that aren’t answered, or that may need further clarification, I’ll answer next time. I’ll also answer the questions that are emailed to us.
Ask IMAO Anything. Because we know everything.

why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?
Because civil engineers like messing with people’s heads.
Is the number 7 really lucky, or is it just centuries of confirmation bias?
Being the lazy bastards that we have been Darwinized to be, we don’t actually state the entire phrase anymore. “After dark” is a contracted form of “after darkness has settled across the land.”
Capital numbers are still used sometimes, though are usually referred to by their colloquial name, Roman Numerals.
Once upon a time, (and you know this explanation is totally legit because starting an anecdote with “once upon a time” is at least as reliable as a peer review,) each pant was a separate item of clothing, so if each of your legs was covered, you were wearing two separate pants. Even after ancient Sumerian tailors were finally able to figure out how to get the seams correct so that it could be a single entity, the habit of referring to them in the plural was already inscribed into our DNA. Braziers never had a history of being two separate pieces of clothing, so women just wear a bra instead of bras, unless she has some sort of mutation or had a surgical body modification.
Rules regarding tourist season, and the stridency with which they are enforced, vary depending upon the state, though most jurisdictions do ban shooting them. That being said, I would still be very wary about wearing an aloha shirt and Bermuda shorts while travelling in Idaho.

Is there any way to tell which star on Old Glory is the one representing my state?
They are all a state of Mind. Except for AOC, she hasn’t got one.
Why do we use capital letters but not capital numbers?
Because math is already hard enough for liberals to understand without using capitalization rules.
During tourist seasons, can we shoot them?
Only if you have attended the mandatory hunter safety course, and purchased the proper hunting license and tags.
Hey! My question was not answered, the ‘reply’ was a question not an answer!
So my new question: How much should I ask for in my lawsuit against IMAO for non-answering of questions?
Follow up, can I shoehorn it into a mesothelioma or talc class action suit?
I would demand total editorial control over the web site in lieu of monetary compensation. You probably cannot shoehorn this into one of those other suits, as IMAO has nothing to do with talc and only a tangential connection to mesothelioma.
We don’t speak of the capital number incident.
How does Basil keep track of all his movies?
What movies? You call those movies? 😉
Theillogical question, now:
As I heard it, “Man is born to trouble, as the sporks fly upward” (Job 5:7).
Does that mean plastic straws get an un-Rapture?
Questions for you, before you give questions for me.
Why do they call it after dark when it’s really after light?
who is this “They” you speak of?
Why do we use capital letters but not capital numbers?
Punishment
Why do they call it a pair of pants but only one bra?
Because one is important and the other isn’t.
During tourist seasons, can we shoot them?
Only with the proper permit., See me later.
That’ll get you started.
A serious question:
If some weirdo troll posts a weirdo comment (“Gestapo! Yah!) on IMAO, do you prefer we just ignore it?
Sometimes I’m tempted to make fun of them.
But then I think that will only elevate them to the realm of serious discussion.
They might even have a method to track feedback and say “Hey, this is working. I’m a bonny, bonny troll!”
(If they’re Scottish)
What are your thoughts?
Never feed the Trolls.
There was global warming today since daybreak, and surely since winter! There was sea level rise twice in the last 24 hours. Are we doomed to repeat these cycles? To whom can I pay taxes to resolve this?
I’ll give my opinion, briefly, but I’d invite Basil to weigh in with his, too, if he’d like.
The goal, at IMAO, as always, is to entertain. Both ourselves and our readers. Sometimes newcomers will chime in without grokking our zeitgeist. My preference is to assume – the first time – that it was an honest mistake.
If it persists, go in, but try to be clever about it. No name-calling. Maybe “I think you’ve mistaken us for ‘In My Aryan Opinion'”
Still persisting? Suggest in a gentle but straightforward manner that they go elsewhere. “You don’t seem to be happy here. Maybe you should try reading a different blog.”
After that, turn something he said into an acronym and leave it as a comment in every post.

Pain, it must be painful. Or fun, it may be funniful.
