So Obama won’t enforce the borders, but he will spend our tax money on trying to make sure no one else will by bringing a lawsuit against Arizona. I get it that Obama doesn’t particularly care for Americans, but does he really have to keep sticking his thumb in our eyes like this?
Interestingly, though everyone claims the Arizona law is racial profiling because they think anything enforcing our border is racial profiling, Obama is not making that charge in his lawsuit. So either the Arizona law isn’t discriminatory, or Obama loves racism.
What he is charging is preemption. Basically, Eric Holder is saying the Arizona law is interfering with the feds ability to not enforce federal law and is unconstitutional — not that Holder has read the Arizona law or the Constitution yet. So since illegal immigrants are breaking federal law, Arizona police can’t arrest them. And I guess if people rob a post office in Arizona, local police can’t arrest them either since that’s a federal offense. I don’t know how that makes any sense, but there it is.
This is just unbelievably stupid. Is Obama really this dimwitted and self-destructive to waste time on this, or does he have some genius plan I’m not smart enough to see and I’m falling right into his trap? Judging from history so far, I’m going with dimwitted and self-destructive, but keep a lookout for genius, evil plans.
It is simple really. They are the pro-criminal party, and should be refered to as such. They back illegal-aliens, they back congressmen who accept freezers full of bribe money, they support perjury…they are not liberals, they are pro-criminal.
I hate to sound conspiratorial, but I’d imagine the DOJ “vetted” the judges they know they’d be facing and must have at least some degree of confidence that they’ll get the ruling they want. If anything, they’ll tie up enforcement long enough so ensure a few million more slave laborers and a few thousand tons of addictive toxins make it into American suburbia before any semblance of a sensible policy could come about (if ever).
The question is, will this scare other states into just waiting around?

The courts have generally held that federal law preempts state law only in the presence of clear language in the enabling statute that the federal law was intended to preempt state and local laws. My guess is that no such language exists; good luck getting that inserted during an election year.
Amazing. Instead of enforcing federal immigration laws, they file suit against states that want the federal immigration laws enforced. And people wonder why I think everyone who voted for Obama is a blithering idiot.
Filing a lawsuit this close to midterms? I don’t know how big the Hispanic voting bloc is or how much it already overlaps the liberal left base but I think it’s a long shot gamble to keep his ever shrinking base because the crazy uber-liberal left is the only thing Ear Leader has left.

When I was a tyke, we’d take long family vacations in our giant ’69 Impala wagon. I miss that car. What I don’t miss is asking my mom every few miles, “Are we there yet?” All the same, that’s how I’m feeling more and more about the ’12 elections.

I think we are all inside of some giant scripted multi-user version of the Truman Show. At first the script writers were all excited about this new Obama character. But they’ve run out of good ideas. Maybe they will replace Eric Holder with Lex Luther. That would at least be an improvement.
