John Hawkins polled the right-wing blogosphere on a number of issues including global warming, immigration, which Democratic Candidate we think is the strongest, and how we rate President Bush on domestic and foreign policy. I was a bit surprised which one of the questions had a unanimous response.
For the record, I was with the majority or plurality for each question.

3) Do you believe that the wall on the border will ever actually be completed?
Yes (6) — 10%
No (56) — 90%
Bush sucks at wall building. Time for
an action alert. We are going to have the build the wall ourselves to keep out the invasion of illegal aliens and sneaky al qaeda fighters. But first we have to decide if it will have alligator pits or laser armed robots.
7) If you were grading George Bush on his foreign policy for his presidency so far, would you give him an:
A or B (35) — 56%
C (18) — 29%
D, E, or F (10) — 16%
A or B for the Iraq War? C’mon! Well at least some rightwingosphere peeps are giving the Decider a proper failing mark.
When the hell did people forget that Commander in Chief mean just that. He can conduct the war the way he and the Generals of the military involved in the action and Joint Chiefs decide to. It’s in that Constitution that the Leftards try so hard to pick and choose favorite parts from.
And, as any other candidate’s foreign handling of Iraq and the General War on Terror would have been inaction, pants wetting, and ultimately being engulfed in an Islamist FedExed Fireball, then Bush deserves a decent grade indeed.
Pussy.
You forget sarcasm man that those on the right disagree with him on the fact that he ran the war in the politically correct way and is not defending the troops. Unlike you who want to retreat with tucked tail, we want the gloves taken off so our soldiers can win this battle.
“War is hell….. if done right”
If they truly wanted to know what I thought on the most serious of issues, there would have been a question regarding Kellie Picklers new accessories. I think you know what I mean FrankJ.
I’m in agreement up to Bush’s performance ratings.
Forgen Policy:
Positives: Action taken in Iraq, and possibly soon in Iran.
Negitives: Running the war like a police action instead of a war, North Korea and Venusuala mouthing off without receiving a tomahawk missile, buddying up to Vicente Fox.
Retort: Any other “candidate” would have appeased all of the above anyway.
Grade: C
Domestic Policy:
Positives: Decent economy, Income tax cut (minorly), no major attacks since 9/11.
Negitives: ACLU still in business and thriving, cowing to the New York Slimes, no action on illegal immagrents, UAE port fiasco, “Where’s Waldo” act on most issues.
Grade: D.
At least it’s better than (shutter) Kerry would have done.
As I have said before, I am not a true conservative and I’m not overly enamored with President Bush. I voted for him in the last election knowing full well what flaws he has and that he had made a mess in Iraq. I don’t think these guys in the administration saw how tough this war was going to be. Not even close. So they’re not going to get a mark anywhere above a C for just that. (Though it’s not quite as simple as that) Add to that their premature draw down this last spring and I’ll mark them at a D+ for the whole thing. I’ll give them an A- for Afghanistan so far, even though I think that war is going to get much worse. We haven’t been attacked in the US during the last few years so I can’t give them less than an A- on that one either. There’s all sorts of issues, some bad, some good, and everything between. Overall I’ll give him a solid C for national security.
So why stick with President Bush and the political right. Well, I look at the left and see, flunky, flunky, flunky, flunky– so what’s the choice really.
So what’s the reaction from the left going to be when Iraq gets a good deal better, which it may well do this year, and Afghanistan gets a whole lot worse, which is also probable.
John Edwards is a faggot…
I give Bush an over-all C- on the way his administration has operated thus far.
I also give Kellie Pickler an A+ on her new accessories.
The major differences between “right wingers” and “left wingers” are:
A. on the right most of us actually research the issues and pay attention to what those in positions of authority are doing and saying.
B. we care more about doing the correct thing for the the future, than what is expedient in the short term.
C. we try to reason with our intellect and not with either our emotions or our baser natures while understanding that sometimes people make mistakes. It is those who can’t admit their mistakes that set our teeth on edge.
D. many of us try to engage in debate with out making filthy, salacious and disparaging remakes to and about those who disagree with us. At least until they fire the first volley and then it’s every Homo sapien for themselves.
E. We bath regularly (oh sorry did I really type that, must be the medication- bad, bad Darvoset : )
(we also know how to take a joke)
I can agree with you on everything except the domestic policy:
Pros: Tax cut, Supreme Court Nominees (double plus good)
Cons: Failure to reign in his own party on spending. No Social Security reform. illegal immigration, Failure to discipline his party to confirm his lower court appointees. Domestic 9/11 response has been a big pork barrel and idiot fest (confiscating nail trimmers anyone?)
So I can’t see a grade higher than D for the domestic side, particularly since Alito was not his first choice and I include the no attacks cited by other commenters as primarily a result of the foreign policy.
Unless I missed it, no one’s mentioned the Medicare entitlement. That was a huge bad.
Still, I’d have rated him C on domestic for the various reasons stated above. And compared to the alternative? Yikes.
I’d say D+ on domestic issues since the ACLU has been purged from the earth in horrific flame, death and torment.
Hey Sarcasm Man, I have a compromise for the wall. Pits containing lazer armed alligators. time to git diggin’.
PS. I have no friggin’ clue who the hell Kellie Pickler is, and yet I know she has new boobs. Thanks, IMAO!
