Did Crazed Kos Readers Force Amazon to Delete Reviews?

Then there’s this post at Kos (purportedly by St. Cindy) complaining that the pictures being circulated of her at a poorly-attended book-signing were taken out of context.

To cheer her up, Kos readers are encouraged in the comments to leave positive reviews at Amazon.
Here’s an interesting comment near the top of the thread:

Though I feel a little guilty that I posted a review without having read the book, I did so, encouraging people to read it for themselves and not to trust the freepers.

Probably a lie. You have to have a conscience in order to feel guilty.

  1. Ben – probably not.
And I don’t condone posting reviews of books you haven’t read, even if I agree with the viewpoint of the reviewer.
My complaint is that Amazon is quietly deleting reviews after posting them, and I’m wondering why they don’t simply refuse to publish them in the first place.
    Just seems shady.

  2. //But you’re saying you honestly believe that most of the 1-star commenters read the book?//
The thing is, to read the book, you have to buy it, and to buy it, you would be encouraging her Munchausen by Proxy syndrome to even greater proportions. So, unless you can get a superbastardized copy; say make a few thousand on your company’s copier after checking it out at the library, and distributing said copies to people you know will hate it, you’ll never have people who aren’t interested or aren’t willing to allow these moonbat freaks to profit from their need to critic her work honestly.
Still, considering that said moonbats do this on a greater scale to anything W proposes, I like to think they are getting a taste of their own medicine per the bad reviews on Baron Cindy’s book. And since it’s such a small petty thing, they are likely to be even more agitated by it.
