Having a black president, we need to be especially wary of racism. Part of that is not using the word “monkey” in any context that relates to President Obama. The problem is, this is a politically focused website and thus any post on it is in some way related Obama. So it after much deliberation it has been decided the word “monkey” will now be banned from use at IMAO while Obama is president. If you must use a word when describing actual monkeys, please use “simian” or “primate” (or “ape” if appropriate) or whatever the simian’s actual formal species name is.
