In the aftermath of the election we face a time of uncertainty, and I find myself drawn to the infamous words of Pastor Martin Niemöller:

First they came for the socialists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.

Then they finally came for me,
and I really gave them a piece of my mind. I’ll never use that cab company again.
