Who Do You Like?

So out of curiosity, who are your favorite candidates for 2016 so far (other than me, of course)? Rand Paul is kind of interesting, but also seems a very dangerous choice that could easily blow up on us (too much of his father in him). Jindal could be good, but does he have the charisma? Like most people, I’ve soured a bit on Rubio, but he’s probably still in the running. There’s a lot I don’t like about Chris Christie, but there some good points to him. Ted Cruz seems good, but will he be able to appeal to mainstream voters? And then there’s Jeb Bush — not really interested in going there.

What say you?

  1. Anyone who looks a reporter in the eyes and says one of the following:
    * Son, you just proved that there ARE such things as stupid questions.
    * I refuse to accept the premise of you question.
    * Disagreement is not racism.
    * Once your paper (network) consistently note the party affilliation of Bob Filner, Anthony Weiner or Elliot Spitzer…THEN you can talk to me about a War on Women.
    * Other than raising the unemployment rate for minorities and lowering the number of minority home owners…what exactly has Obama accomplished.
    * Please don’t interupt me….I’m talking to voters.

  2. I am deeply suspicious of anyone who would actually consider taking the job. Yeah, that includes you, Frank. Sure, you promise to do nothing, but once you get the ‘executive privilege’, I suspect you’ld go nuts.

  3. Who I like and who among them would run are unfortunately two different things. The country would be well served by a Walter Williams, Dan Greenfield, Charles Krauthammer, Thomas Sowell, Victor Davis Hanson, or Frank J presidency.

Of politicians who would actually run, West has less baggage than Cain or Palin, but I’d welcome any of them.

Of course, I’d prefer a toddler to any of the likely Democrat contenders.

  4. Hmmm. Thanks. Learn something new every day. Never read that. I must say, though, that given my reaction to all the so-called “Blue-on-Blue” shootings and suicide bombings, that incident isn’t close to a deal-breaker for my opinion of West.

  5. Any one of our true conservative leaders would be fine. The problem is that the party continues to let liberals define the battlespace.

When they call us anti-immigration tell them that we are just for enforcing existing laws, why are they anti-law enforcement?

When they claim that abortion laws are a war on women, ask them how killing a 6 month old fetus helps women?

When they yell about phony scandals tell them that no one died when Mitt Romney’s dog rode on top of the car.

When they imply Republicans are racist, point out how many minority Republican governors there are. Then point out the racism of the left (white hispanic/peruvian)

Have a spy get a copy of the DNC talking points before a debate and when the moderator asks a question from it, point it out and ask if the reporter thinks it is ethical to work with one political party against another.

  6. A governor. Not Christie. Most Democrats in Georgia are to the right of Christie.

Bush is better than people think, and better than most of the ones mentioned so far. Most, I said. Let someone from Florida weigh in on him.

Wait. Frank, was he your gubner when you lived down there? You can remember back that far, right? How was he?

  7. Scott Walker. Oh my. One of the few politicians I’ve seen who’s stood his ground with pressure from every side. They tried to recall him, and he stood firm. He won. He’s my choice. Well…for a candidate to actually do something.

Frank J is my favorite do-nothing candidate. Hands down. 🙂

  8. There’s too much division between the Republicans for them to win. Too many who will not be satisfied with anyone who is not a pure conservative. Too many who will stay home and pout rather than vote for anyone like a Romney or a Christy. The end result will be four years (probably eight) of Hillary Clinton and, at the least, a complete replacement of conservative Supreme Court justices and pretty much the complete socialization of what was once a great and free country. Too bad.

  9. Who do I like??…. NOT A DAMN ONE OF THEM. We are DONE. The experiment is over. Tell me how the US differs from any other semi totalitarian state? No, we aren’t full on totalitarian yet, but give it another political cycle. Are we really “free”? Do we maintain the presumption of innocence? Are we secure in our persons, property & effects? Do have a “free” press or propaganda machine? Do we live in a surveillance state? The rules don’t apply anymore. Truth is DEAD. The system corrupts on contact.

I VOTE FOR GUILLOTINE! and then Constitution 2.0

    and, GET OFF MY LAWN!

  10. @22 – The fact that you can write that without fear of the gulag means there’s still a chance to turn this around without bloodshed.

When that’s no longer true, well…

    Keep your powder dry, men…

  11. The problem is the choicers. Its either the marxist democrat or the marxist Republican. The true conservative in the race last time got no attention because he wasn’t a “choice”. Well, the Republicans have proven themselves to be democrats in disguise and the democrats have taken the mask off their marxism. I will give neither the time nor the consideration ever again. The best we can do is to secede and break up what was once a great countr. Once we rid ourselves of the big government, we can concentrate on our smaller countries. The new countries may then join in confederation with the others that have similar beliefs and cultures and the “blue” states can wither and collapse under their own socialism. I will support the true conservative be he Republican, Constitution, Libertarian, Green, or any other party. Unlike the choicers, I will vote for the the candidate that is best for the country and my liberty.

  12. I’m all in favor of a ticket of Condoleezza Rice and Sarah Palin. Hot and hotter! Also, we’d get to watch Condi kick the teeth out of the rest of the MSNBCers the way she already has with Lawrence O’Donnell. I can just hear her warning Chris Matthews, “Chris, we can end this interview right now if you keep on interrupting me.” And then, when he interrupts her again, three seconds later, ending the interview by pulling his stomach right out of his mouth.

I really don’t care which one of them is the candidate for President and which one for VP.

  13. So out of curiosity, who are your favorite candidates for 2016 so far (other than me, of course)?

Let’s not exclude anybody, that’d be rude.

    I say, Rand Paul/FrnakJ 2016!!!!!

I’ve been waiting 10 dam years for you to be old enough to run for president. Don’t pee in my Cheerios.
