When you reach the age of an adult, whatever that is arbitrarily set at [18], then you must assume all the responsibilities that adulthood is comprised of for yourself. That would be both good things and bad things.
Interesting idea, although I think the legal conveniences of a specific numerical age of majority outweigh the benefits offered by licensure, which itself would be bogged down in a hideous DMV-like bureaucracy.

The College Board plans to assign an adversity score to every student who takes the SAT to try to capture their social and economic background, jumping into the debate raging over race and class in college admissions. This new number, called an adversity score by college admissions officers, is calculated using 15 factors including the crime rate and poverty levels from the student’s high school and neighborhood. Students won’t be told the scores, but colleges will see the numbers when reviewing their applications. Fifty colleges used the score last year as part of a beta test.
how about this: if you didn’t pay (and I mean actually PAY….not that funny business with exemptions and credits) 10% of your real income in taxes you don’t get a say in how our money gets spent. for elections with 4 year terms….must have paid 4 years’ worth….6 year terms….6 years’ worth.
thats it.
if you didnt pay into the tax base you don’t get a say in how the money is spent or how policy is set.

Never mind DMV bureaucracy, we’re talking letting politicized deep staters deciding if you are “Qualified” for adult things like, oh, voting?

Draft age. If Uncle Sam is allowed to mess up your life when you turn 18, you should be allowed to mess it up on your own.
