Time – People of the Year

I’d like to take a moment to congratulate the winners of Time’s Person of the Year Award: Rock Star Bono, and Bill and Melinda Gates.
Mr. Bono has worked tirelessly to help clear up Africa’s MasterCard bill.
Mr. Gates has worked tirelessly to ensure that my current version of Windows functions well, and that it will function even better with the next version for just $59.95.
And, of course, Mrs. Gates bakes a mean apple strudel.
Congratulations to you all.
Your certificate of appreciation is in the mail.
Out of curiouslity – not to say these people were not worthy – but is there anyone you feel would have made a better choice?
Post in comments – unless Windows crashes.

  1. Kanye West! His tireless struggle to highlight the plight of the modern African American’s being oppressed by the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy and their vicious Hurricane Machine is an inspiration to us all!

  2. What about Frank J., SarahK and Bob?
Frank has certainly provided better entertainment than Bono. His use of Windows is far more creative than Bill’s and I guess we’ll have to wait to find out if his wife can bake a mean strudel– that’s if he survives (could of warned you ’bout the sushi dude.)– and Bob is well, just Bob.
    Happy Trails!

  4. It is somewhat odd that a left-wing rag like TIME would select three rich, white guys (and gal).
Is this one of those ironic choices?
It obviously can’t be due to their charity work – that’s the kind of stuff that Jesus-freaks in flyover country do….

  5. I think it should have been the American soldiers again…with Iraqi soldiers in there too – and blue finger voters!! Seriously, they’ve done the MOST important work this year, hands down. And I don’t think anyone (except the liberal leftards of course) would’ve found fault with them basically reusing a former idea.

  6. Whoever brought the South Korean movie “Oldboy” to my local movie rental place. Man… that is a good fricken movie. I would nominate writer director Chan-wook Park, but he made the movie in 2003. However, whoever brought the wonderful movie to Shreveport, Louisiana did so in the year of 05.
    Thank you, and God bless.

P.S. Does anyone know of any of Indiana Jones’ possessions from whom I could take? Its kind of a hobby of mine.
