Humor Tips

Is a joke not as funny as you hoped? Try adding a duck.
When selecting an animal to use to increase the humor quotient, most people turn to the monkey, but the duck is actually the more traditional animal choice of humorists. With its silly flat beak and its odd “quack” sound, it’s as if the animal exists for no other reason than our constant derision.

  1. I can’t believe no one’s mentioned llamas! Llamas have been just about as popular as monkeys for a joke animal. Especially after that Disney movie about Pelosi trying to usurp Emperor Kuzco.

  2. Right you are – and we have a duck!
He wants to volunteer to help fight against the terrorists too. He can dance and quack, and chases people as needed.
Any suggestions as to what he can do?

  3. Veeshir,
Perhaps it’s just something that’s popped up in the teenage culture recently. It’s probably just the sheer randomness of the llama being there in the first place that makes it funny (For example, Napolean Dynamite). That, and the way it’s spelled (which is two L’s, unless you’re talking about the tibetan monk or something).

  4. That would have been funny if you had stated that the 60 foot tank would be a large Trojan Duck. Better luck next time.
It would be funny but making giant duck molds that big would make the sixty foot tank project too expensive. Congress would never approve it. You would need to find some method for creating giant duck molds cheaply or the story wouldn’t make any sense.

  5. Ok, let me give the duck thing a try
Guy walks in the door after work carrying a duck under one arm. He is met by his wife in the hallway where he promptly says
“Honey, here is that pig I have been f***ing!”
His wife rolls her eyes and says to him
    “Sweetie, that’s not a pig, that’s a duck!”
He looks up at her and says
    “I wasn’t talking to you”
