  1. Did I hear correctly? When Obama made his sorry speech, where he tried to take credit for the entire operation, I could swear he said that they killed him “today.” Now it’s being reported that Bin Laden was killed last week. If I heard correctly, clearly Obama had no friggin’ idea about any of this operation. Maybe I’m wrong, but I could swear he said he was killed “today.”

  2. Obama said, “Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. a small team of Americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability.”

If he was actually killed last week, clearly Obama didn’t know a damn thing about this operation.

  3. As much as I despise everything our current President stands for, and reject pretty much every policy he’s ever even considered putting into practice. An enemy of America has met his end at the hand of our noble Armed Forces. Let’s set the politics down for just a few moments, have a drink, and celebrate as Americans.

  4. @Charon,

I would be happy to put politics aside, however, our president – predictably – just tried to claim that he and Leon Panetta were responsible for this. In reality, our military did this with absolutely no help from him and, if anything, he was most likely a hindrance. He hates the military, and is working to cut funding to our military and our intelligence. His speech was – as usual – about him, and I found it offensive. You’re right, his speech should have been about the brave men in our military, however, instead it was about him taking credit for it…politics.

I am very happy for our country that this filth is finally dead. Unfortunately, as usual, Obama immediately made it political, and the countdown begins to which low-life democrat is the first to spout that “Obama did what Bush couldn’t,” when Obama certainly had nothing to do with this.

  5. “In an attempt to release the news of Osama bin Laden’s death quickly late Sunday night, MSNBC correspondent Norah O’Donnell accidentally reported on Twitter that “Obama” had been “killed” instead.
“Obama shot and killed,” Norah O’Donnell posted on Twitter, citing NBC Chief Pentagon Correspondent Jim Miklaszewski as her source.

    LOL

  6. Responding to your tweet about the three stooges:

How about instead, that Osama’s corpse was handled lovingly, according to Islamic Tradition, by a crack squad of specially chosen gay military officers.

Who says gays don’t have a place in the military?

  7. Geraldo Rivera made the same slip, waited for a painful couple of beats, then went on, grateful that Bret Baier wasn’t going to call him on it.

I think we should hold a public funeral for UBL, Pershing style: wrap him in bloody pigskin for a shroud, and bury him in a shallow grave in a pigsty.

Musical accompaniment: kazoos, finale by a whoopee cushion.

Let the pigs dig him up and eat him. Then on the one-month anniversary, we butcher the hogs and feed them to pariah dogs.

It couldn’t happen to anyone more deserving.

And I hope each and every one of UBL’s 72 virgins is [1] non-human, [2] non-female and [3] possessed of a contagious STD designed just for him…

  8. “handled according to Islamic tradition” — dare we hope that they let the SEALs cut his head off, burn him, and hang his body from a bridge? That would be cool . . .

  9. They “buried him at sea”! R-I-G-H-T! So after Obama put on the headphones and directed the take down shot personally by assisting the sniper with his aim, they quickly got the body out of there, treated it with all Mooslim respect, and then buried it at sea? Umm…To quote Vince Lombardi “What the hell is going on out there?”

Maybe they were talking about seaman and ghey military or something but something smells!!!

“At 8:20am on Friday, April 29th in the Diplomatic Room, President Obama met with National Security Adviser Tom Donilon, White House chief of staff William Daley, White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan and deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough and gave the order for the operation.”

    Credit where credit is due.

  11. I’m not going to fret over a couple words in teh speech.

He withstood the pressure from the Left to abandon the fight. Well done, President Obama.

Heartfelt thanks to the men and women in the military and their families who shouldered the costs of this war for a decade. Thank you, Presidents Bush and Obama, for leading the fight to bring the leaders of al Qaeda to justice.

    Now…

I hope they stuffed the bastards belly with bacon fat before they chummed the waters.

  12. The SEALs responsible may very well remain faceless and nameless to those outside of the close knit special forces community. The truth may be roughly the same for the chopper pilots, for the intel people, and for any support people who may have been on the ground in Pakistan or in some aircraft above.

Whoever they are, I’d like to buy them and the people who made their ammo some drinks.

  13. BornLibLoser says:

    Credit where credit is due.

Yes, you can always give credit to ABC news for to be propagandists for someone who’s very first executive order was to close gitmo…..
“Intelligence was also provided by detainees.”….hmmmmmm detainees…where?

  14. Obama ordered the murder of an innocent man. We all know it was Dick Cheney nad Booosh who flew those aircraft into those buildings.

    Three cheers to our side.

I want to see the body, long form or short form.

I hope this is true, and we nailed the murderous SOB.

  15. So little Barack finally found Carmen Sandiego!

You know how a father of a 16-year old boy might let him finish his beer that has like 3 sips left in it and the kid will get all excited that “he drank a whole beer all by himself”? Yeah. That.

Apparently Bush’s strategy, combined with Bush’s alliances with Pakistan, and information obtaiend from Gitmo may have carried the day. Who would have though….oh yeah – a whole bunch of conservatives.

I DO find it a little odd that this happened right when Obama’s poll numbers were at their lowest….and the body was disposed of before anyone could really have a look at it other than some military officials. I hope the DNA test that are posted on the White House web site beause Donald Trump calls out Obama again don’t look like as ineptly thrown-together fakes as did his birth certificate….edit layers, no official seal, and all that other stuff that makes my tinfoil hat spark.

  17. @BornLib,

“The operation had been in the works for years. Since 9/11, the CIA gathered leads on those in bin Laden’s inner circle, including personal couriers. During interrogations and questioning [WOULDN’T THAT BE THE WATERBOARDING OBAMA DECRIED, AT THE SAME GITMO THAT OBAMA WANTED SHUT DOWN???], various detainees flagged individuals who may have been providing support to OBL and Zawahiri. One courier in particularly was identified by detainees as one of the few al Qaeda couriers who had bin Laden’s trust. He was identified as a “protégé” of Khalid Sheikh Mohammad and a trusted assistant of Abu Faraj al –Libbi, the former #3 of al Qaeda, who was captured in 2005. There were even indications the courier may have been living with bin Laden.
In 2007 [2007??? WAIT, WAS OBAMA PRESIDENT IN 2007???], intelligence officers discovered his identity. In 2009, intelligence officials identified areas in Pakistan where the courier and his brother operate – but they were still unable to pinpoint precisely where.

“Credit where credit is due”? Yep, thank you the great American military and George W Bush! Meanwhile, Obama can resume cutting the military and intelligence budgets.

  18. I saw the news reports and the speech. I thought it was the best I’d seen Obama give. He thanked the military and intelligence forces several times and gave a special recognition to the intelligence forces who had worked so long at capturing OBL. He may not have thanked Bush; however, he did at least mention him with respect to the hunt. The close of his speech was exclusively about American exceptionalism.

Here’s the deal as I see it. Obama nurtured and greenlighted the mission. I give him full credit for that. He had to know that if the mission failed miserably, he would not stand a chance in ’12. Not only would the political fallout have been bad, the geopolitical repercussions might have been a huge problem if Pakistani forces had become locked in a battle with stranded Navy SEALS.

Before you ax me to give up my Conservative membership card, the seeds of this operation go back to KSM and Gitmo. If liberals had had their way, the mission would not have been possible. End of story.

  19. Callooh! Callay!

    Oh, Frabjous day!

I’m glad I’m not the only one dorky enough to have thought of these exact lines when I heard the news. I was almost afraid to share that.

  20. @Burma,

Believe it or not, that’s not a photo. It’s more of Frank’s artwork. His art is so eerily lifelike, and often difficult to distinguish from an actual photograph. However, if you look very, very closely, you can make out the subtle brush strokes.

  21. But But But Rosie said that Bush and Cheney blew up the Twin Towers? Now I’m really really confused! So where’s Rosie with all of Obama’s heroics and all? Did he execute an innocent man or what is going on here? Better get Jesse Ventura on the case… Boy I’d hate to run against Obama now!!! Of course I’m going to be Mitt Romney the hand picked RINO GOP candidate and I’m going to get slaughtered no matter what happens because I suck worse than Obama!!!
