So are the Democrats trying to legislate Heaven? Howard Dean said:
“This country is not a theocracy. There are fundamental differences between the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party believes that everybody in this room ought to be comfortable being an American Jew, not just an American; that there are no bars to heaven for anybody; that we are not a one-religion nation; and that no child or member of a football team ought to be able to cringe at the last line of a prayer before going onto the field.”
The Democratic Party believes everybody gets into Heaven no matter what? Are they going to pass bills to that effect? Are they going to model salvation on outcome-based education?
If you let the Democrats take charge of Heaven, it’s going to become one big crack den, I guarantee. That’s why you should never let any Democrats into Heaven, but I’m sure God in His infinite wisdom already knows that.

Does God have any sayso in this matter? I thought he got his talking points from Hillary’s people too.

Why shouldn’t children or members of football teams be able to cringe at anything that they want? Isn’t the freedom to cringe a pretty fundamental freedom? Why is Howard Dean opposed to this freedom?
[Howard Dean is for injecting Botox into everyone and paralyzing their faces! -Ed.]
Well, why not? The Chinese are doing it:

Alexander Hamilton said it best:
“If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything”
Relativism is the philosophy of the spineless. It fits Dean perfectly. And why is it that they think making relativism the legislated religion is less invasive than making any more concrete religion official?
In school, if a Muslim student wanted to pray toward Mecca in the middle of class, the school had to let him. If a Buddhist wanted to meditate during lunch, the school had to let him. If I wanted to pray out loud on school property, I’d be suspended. Does anyone else see a double standard? I don’t want civil religion (state legislated or not), all I want is the same freedom that minorities enjoy. I guess I’m not aloud because I’m an evil middle class white guy, the worste sort of human.
You’d think that at some point, some democrat would realize that “separation of church and state” works both ways, government shouldn’t dictate or interfere with the practicing of religion, and religion shouldn’t dictate or interfere with legislation.
we cannot have the democrats in charge of heaven!! they’d probably let keith olberman in!
Great, now the democrats will run Heaven? So, now what happens to you when you can’t die because you can’t afford the taxes?
Wow, the dems are trying to decide entrance into Heaven?
Do we have to buy tickets or just have a D next to our name?
I agree with Adam, I don’t think they understand the concept of seperation of church and state. ‘Tards. We should just punch them. But if we punched them, we might not get into Heaven. But their version of it, it might be worth it.

I noticed that, too, Frank.
I didn’t want to point that out as even though I’ve been reading here for forever, I just started posting and don’t wish to have Fred! sicked on me.

Howard Dean’s statement makes little sense, why should everyone in his room be an American Jew, do i have to convert to be in the same room with him, did he convert. How will they check? Is there a separate room for American Christians? Is it as nice? What about American Taoists, do they get their own room? Who determines the size of the room? What about seating options? Do American Muslims get two rooms (one for men and one for women)? And what about the f***in’ aethists, do they get nothing?
I think it should be the other way around, religion does not affect citizenship (maybe it will under a Democrat regime, but currently it does not) thus everyone should be considered an American and everything else is extraneous and we should all gather in one room so that all our voices are heard.
Douchebag Democrat, always trying to create division instead of unity. No wonder, that even when they ‘control’ Congress they can’t do shit.
We need a constitutional amendment so that those Rethuglicans, no wait Republithugs, wait… well you know who I mean – the evil ones – any way, so they can never steal our heavenly rights!
Jesus said: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6 RSV)
I expect Howard Dean to compare Jesus to Hitler any minute now.
How bout this:
“Not only are we going to New Hampshire, we’re going to South Carolina and Oklahoma and Arizona and North Dakota and New Mexico, and we’re going to California and Texas and New York … And we’re going to South Dakota and Oregon and Washington and Michigan, and then we’re going to Washington, D.C., to take back the White House! and then we’re going to Heaven …Yeaararh!!!”
Anon Y. Mous,
There’s an evil branch to the Republican party? I know I hear about it all the time, but who can trust the media? How do I join? Because I’m just aching to get invited to one of those pollution parties in a national forest. From what I hear from the media, those must be happening all the time, and I’m missing them. And you just know that those endangered animals are delicious, seeing how everything’s eating them.
I think Howie ought to read the Bible sometime.
I find it odd that so many people want to disfain for their beliefs, and then try to assure everyone that they’re all going to heaven based on their goods deeds and fine speeches.
Even if it were based on good deeds, that still leaves the liberal Democrats out. In fact, the bulk of their deeds pretty much insures them “right” to spend eternity doing the slow roast.
I think I ought to learn how to spell my name…
Just remember to use the opposite when Democrats use terms such as “heaven” or “God”, especially when they’re faking a positive attitude towards them. Kind of like the way Muslims refer to Satan as “Allah”.
WOW! The Democratic party has acknowleged that there IS a Heaven! How can this be? I thought we are the end result of some accident that crawled out of the primordial ooze some gazillion years ago, which would elimate a Creator, which would eliminate Heaven! Now the leader of the party not only intimates that there is a Heaven, but his party is set to legislate who and how one obtains entrance! Stunning!
Master Shake, I thought I was the only one who thought that.
WOW! The Democratic party has acknowleged that there IS a Heaven!
They admit there is a heaven but they will tell you that the only real hell is living in America under the Booosh Theocracy
Rich and Master Shake speak truth to nonsense but…”If you let the Democrats take charge of Heaven, it’s going to become one big crack den, I guarantee. That’s why you should never let any Democrats into Heaven, but I’m sure God in His infinite wisdom already knows that.”…is the reasoned dialog we need.
Also: Any IMW is the works?
