Just Because You’re Against Abortion Doesn’t Mean You’re for Expensive Abortions

Saw this on Red State and am not really sure how damning it is, but here’s the list of services and the copays for healthcare in Massachusetts as passed under Romney and right near the beginning of the second page is abortion for $50 (cheap!). I believe Romney’s explanation is that government funded abortion was unavoidable under the Massachusetts’s constitution, but I can also see another reason he didn’t get the NRLC endorsement.
This reminds of a teacher I had who explained he never put money in parking meters because he calculated that based how often he got a ticket and how much they cost, it was cheaper to pay the occasional ticket than always pay for parking. If you sleep around a lot and are on a budget, you might want to weigh constantly buying contraceptives versus the occasional abortion. Tell us your results!

  1. Obviously. If I were perverted or secretly gay, first think on my agenda would be to stop abortion. -Ed.
You are 100% correct. Secretly gay people always try to act like extreme conservatives so they would obviously claim to be anti-abortion freaks.
[And they bake delicious pies! Be wary of delicious pies! -Ed.]

  2. I’m a pervert, does that mean I have to be anti-abortion?
Or does it matter what type of pervert you are? I mean, I don’t want to mess things up by being anti-abortion unless I’m the right kind of pervert so any help on that would be appreciated.

  3. Okay, let’s go over this. Romney was the Republican. Governor of MASSACHUSETTS. The most impotent creature on the planet is the Republican Governor of Massachusetts. He could not fart in office unless the Socialist Legislature approved.
In fact, under State law any Democrat House or Senate member was allowed to remove the funiture of office equipment of their choice from Mitt’s office if they wanted it.
In his first week in Office Romney tried to fire a gang of recently paroled Union thugs who were given no-show State jobs in the Governors Office. Within two weeks the Legislature re-wrote the State Constitution(which is written on an Etch-A-Sketch for such occasions)and removed the Governors power to fire anyone in the Executive branch if the Legislature disapproved.
Remeber, you will see a functional democracy in Baghdad several generations before you see one in Boston.

  4. Ooooh, Rom has some egg on his face. :-/
Fred received support from National Right To Life Coalition – whatever that’s worth, but I’m becoming disillusioned with him lately, too. It’s not that he’d be worse than the other candidates, it’s that the country can’t afford the gov’t dicking around in the next term.
It’d be financially in our interest to murder all the invalids, too; however, that’d make us immoral shits of the Earth . . . or even more so, anyways.
Abortion is a moral issue. A person will be either responsible by preventing pregnancy or doing what’s best for the resulting prenatal or postnatal child or sacrifice the child’s life for her own desires. Only if the pregnancy is fatal to the mother can I imagine killing her own child not be murder.

  5. Mucinex produces copius amounts of snot…nuff said! Mitt is about as genuine as Rudy on this issue. I’m getting very tired of these pricks telling us what we want to hear but doing nothing about the issue while in office! Killing unborn babies just seems wrong to me…but that’s me…

  6. “Many repressed anti-abortion fanatics are also perverts or in-the-closet gays.”
Mucinex, I think the term you’re looking for is; ‘Many repressed anti-abortion fanatics are responsible people. Who don’t get their jollies killing unborn babies.’

  7. “Okay, let’s go over this. Romney was the Republican. Governor of MASSACHUSETTS. The most impotent creature on the planet is the Republican Governor of Massachusetts. He could not fart in office unless the Socialist Legislature approved.”
Fine, just one more reason why he’s a poor choice to be the next president of our country.

  8. If you folks don’t get off the “Abortion is the only issue” bandwagon Hitlery is going to walk away with this election. Fact is neither Mitt, Rudy or any of the others is that strong on abortion. (they may talk the talk but they rarely walk the walk)
The majority of people in this country, while opposing abortion on demand realize that there are some times when it will be a medical necessity(danger to the mother, rape, incest for example). There are just as important issues to focus on, the war, immigration, energy resources, education just to name a few. Don’t allow one issue to put Satan and her minions in power.
Oh and for the dis Mitt crowd. At least he has run a profitable business outside of government as well as managed to save the Olympics from itself and even turn a profit (which was not even an option before he took over). That right there should make him a front runner.
