The New York Police Department wants pharmacies in and around the city to fight prescription drug thefts by stocking pill bottles fitted with GPS tracking chips.
Or, how about this? You could tie them to big sticks like gas station restroom keys.

Me thinks the thieves would learn quickly to “Ditch” the bottle, and keep the pills.
Appropriate for Viagra. Class, could there be other unweildy things that match the product?
how about giving them bottles full of C4? That would solve the problem much quicker. There would be red…stuff…everywhere, just like when they rob banks. Case closed.
It’s funny how us intelligent people immediately say “they’ll just ditch the bottle, DUH, especially when you ANNOUNCE you’re going to do it….and the people “in charge” don’t.
Better yet, have fake pills made of cyanide, here you go Mr criminal, this is a nice fresh batch, have fun.
Ditch the bottles, or wave them past a good magnet.
ATTENTION:
Our pill bottles have GPS trackers in them so don’t even think about robbing us.
Thank You
* You can request non-child proof bottles if your whiskey shakes make them difficult to open.
Just put up a “Robbing Free Zone” sign.
What a stupid idea – GPS trackers.
Why not just put up a sign that the pharmacy is a “No Drug Theft” Zone? It’s a much cheaper way to solve the problem.
Six months later: “I don’t understand: people still steal drugs! …and my last prescription was more expensive for some reason! Stupid Republicans!”
