Don’t Mess with a Marine, Even Verbally

Heh. It’s cool to come to my own blog for new humor. Some great humor here from my own hand selected elite bloggers including Harvey and Ducky (who should post later) who have guest blogged before. New are Sir Kisser of this hilarious parody blog plus blogging legend Laurence Simon. Well, legend may be stretching it, but he’s a prolific blogger who has been around a lot longer than me.
Anyway, for those who are reading this and not just desperately trying to comment first to get the free book, I’ll tell you that I saw Oliver North, of Premiere Speakers Bureau’s exclusive speakers, back during my Freshman year of college. Now, since I went to an engineering college, we were not the most politically aware campus, but it was standing room only for him. Oliver North is one of the first political figures I ever heard of since Mad Magazine like to make fun of him.
Anyhoo, it started with some college kid (from Pitt, not CMU) shouting at the top of his lungs so loud you couldn’t understand what he was saying. He announced he wouldn’t leave until the police took him away, and the police obliged. North wasn’t even fazed for a second, and played off of it well. Wish I could remember more details of his speech, but he had question at the end in which some white kid stood up and said he had visited China and didn’t see any of this oppression North had spoke. North then so verbally devastated the guy he was mumbling in the end.
That was cool
Well, later I’ll have to tell you about my limited experience about getting big speakers for your college if you’re a college student.
Be honorable, ronin, and enjoy the guest blogging.

  1. I saw Col North my freshman year at Texas A&M. Brought to you by the CR’s. The crowd was huge, and everybody spotted Potentially Troublesome Lefty (long hair, bad posture, shall-we-say-casual clothing) immediately. PTL waited till the Q&A was over and screeched something about how many people Col North murdered in Vietnam, or something. I was a little disappointed because Col North came back to the microphone and said “The Q&A is over.”
Then the multitude that stood ready to whip that guy’s ass sat back down.

  2. Oliver North was great on Hannity and That Guy even the Liberals don’t like the other night. He was debating seperation of Church and State with California Lawyer who wanted to remove “Under God” from the pledge. Ollie took out a dollar to make the point about our money having “In God We Trust” and in true lawyer fashion that b@astard took it and put in his pocket. Why do liberals want conservative money so bad?

  3. “Wait, are you saying someone won for today? Guess I don’t understand this one. I’m a pretty stupid ronin.
FrankJ you never told us there would be trick questions!!! :shakes fist:”–John K.
Well, for a name like that, I can’t blame you. 😉
Just kidding. The deal is every day he’ll make a post (including on his vacation days) and one post of his per day will include a mention of Premiere Speakers Bureau. Whenever that name is mentioned in a post, it become a contest post. So far, that phrase has been in hyperlink form, so it’s easy to find. Then if you still see 0 comments have been made, post away and maybe you’ll be the lucky one!
(Oddly enough, I had just made a sandwich when I came back to hit that lucky refresh button and saw 0 comments had been made on a Frank J. post. Someone else could have taken it, were they vigilant enough!)

  4. I can testify to this. We had a Marine Colonel (not Col. North, that would be too great for my HS) during my Sr. year, and of course, we had the long hair hippie crowd who tried to get him to start yelling and possibly get violent, but in true form of an Officer and a GENTLEMAN he trounced them SEVERELY without so much as raising his voice or even looking the least bit peterbed. THAT is why a Marine is the epitomy of what this country stands for…..
strong in mind and body, but ONLY gets agressive when they ABSOLUTELY must.

  5. Haha, I vaguely remember the screaming kid thing from the Pitt News. Frank, I gather you went to CMU… I sympathize… I mean, I went to Pitt… but still, you guys just seemed so sorry and out of the loop over there. 😉
    Princess Kim:
Wow, sure about that? You must have had a much different Pitt experience than I did! CIA and FBI were on campus multiple times for the Int’ Affairs program and the NSA was always there twice a year for the technical students. I always thought was Pitt was relatively conservative as for as colleges go. Actually, I should probably just say “less liberal”.
