Heard this song from Drowning Pool while in the car and thought I’d share it. I like country music, but I certainly wouldn’t mind more patriotic rock songs:
Thanks to all the veterans. You guys make me feel pretty worthless. Also, a shout out to my brother, Joe foo’ the Marine, whose birthday is today and is also a combat veteran and now an officer in the Marines. He’s thirty today and well on his way to being an old grizzled vet.
UPDATE:
I found out that Drowning Pool has made the song “Soldiers” available as a free download on the USO MySpace page. Also, it’s on their new album Full Circle.

Frank, I saw those guys while in Kuwait waiting to go to Iraq in 2005. Like you, not my cup of tea. (Saw CDB in Iraq and thoroughly enjoyed that.) I didn’t even stay long enough to hear the one song they have that I know. I do know this, though. Those guys stayed after the show long enough to sign autographs for everyone that wanted one. Happy Veteran’s day everyone, and thanks you Frank and other’s at IMAO for fighting the insurgency here at home.
Awesome! I’m glad to see that patriotism isn’t just confined to country (since that really ain’t my thing). I love rock, though, so this makes for a happy me. I’ll need to listen to more Drowning Pool now…
I discovered Drowning Pool a couple months ago after I think it was Frank J. mentioned their song “Let the Bodies hit the Floor”….
They are awesome, much better than my other favorite patriot rock band, Stuck Mojo (who are pretty decent).
Oh, look I found that post I was talking about http://www.imao.us/archives/008871.html
Did I mention, Thanks Frank J. without you, I may have never found Drowning Pool
“Thanks to all the veterans. You guys make me feel pretty worthless.”
Heh, same here, I have a friend who’s going into the marines, makes me feel completely useless… oh well, he promised to send me back a turban if he kills a ter’rist with one on, so I’ll be even more indebted to him.
Gents….don’t EVER feel that way. The Armed Forces need rear echelon (read Homefront) Warriors to take the fight to as insidious an Enemy as we’ve ever faced.
Not just the Terrorists, but also the MSM and Political slimeball that dis our Brothers and Sisters, even as they make a friggin living off of them.
G-d Dammit! You made me be serious. Frank J… Nothing to make a Man prouder than getting that little gold bar pinned to his shoulder at Quantico. And….he has the same b-day as George Friggin Patton?
Didn’t realize you had a Teufel Hunden in the family. Maybe I like you after all. (Better than that squid Harvey, anyway)…humor there Mr. Harv
Happy Veterans Day

Thanks to veterans everyday. But on Veterans day a bigger thank you. A tribute to Veterans:

(my brother is in the last picture with his better half.)
I lift a glass to all you brave men and women. to misquote the song: some gave all but all gave some. G-d bless you. And G-d has blessed the U.S.A. to have so many great heroes.
Iced Earth and Stuck Mojo are two that come to mind when I think of patriotic metal bands. In fact Iced Earth made an album “The Glorious Burden” that was mostly about American and/or military history.
Ah, get over it, Frank.
You have any idea how many guys come back to the FOB and tune into this blog just to get a grin over…something, anything?
You may not wear a uniform, but you still serve.
