You can comment here if you’re watching the debate. I’m not; I’m watching a Tivoed Mythbusters. They’re making a rocket car!
BTW, John Hawkins is liveblogging. At 8:42, he declared the debate officially tedious.
UPDATE:
The rocket car blew up.

Exploding Rocketcar rules! (I watched that one last night). Haven’t watched the Tivoed debates yet… Prediction: Edwards still gay, Clinton still a power-hungry idiot, Obama still trying to convince the world he’s hip, yet still presidential … the rest still going nowhere.
I tried watching the debate for a while. When I left, they were interrupting each other, Obama was looking harried and trying to speak over the roar of the crowd, and then he pointed and tried to look pretty. When I flipped back a little later he was accusing Hillary of something. And later yet, the question the candidates were being asked was “Is it fair to accuse Senator Clinton of flip-flopping when you change your own opinions?” I stopped even flipping by CNN at that point.
Total time wasted watching the Democrat debate: 6 secs. (And I still feel dumber for having seen that much.)
There was a Dem debate on? Good thing I have no desire to either watch or vote any of them.
I’m the person that’s still watching Survivor on Thurs night (even though they have been royally pissing me off of late).
Summary of the debate:
– Several idiots who have convinced themselves they are smarter than everyone else – just misunderstood – were unable to answer simple yes or no questions.
– All talked about how once they were president they would begin listening to the people…even though, apparently, at this stage they see no reason to.
– All talked about how they would deal with Bush and Cheney’s administration once in office, apparently unaware that there will be no more Bush/Cheney administration at the point the next president takes office.
– All talked about how screwed up the government in Washington is…apparently unwilling to acknowledge that they are part of the current government in Washington.
Not so much talk about the war, because the surge is apparently working.
Kucinich is a shrill moron.
Pony Boy looked pretty – prettier than Witchy Woman.
I think OzBama actually said that the surge didn’t work because we are now back to where we were a year ago.
Volf did ask hard hitting questions like, “Hillary would make a better President, or you would make a worse President? Yes or no?”
Yes, I too skipped the debate to watch the rocketcar blow up on Mythbusters. It’s true that I had no intention of watching the debate in the first place. Nevertheless. . .
The rocketcar blowing up was so very disappointing, yet somehow strangely satisfying and awesome.
I too missed the debates. I had to wash my hair and clean out the fridge, dump the cat litter and pooper scoop the yard. After all the crap and sludge of the day the last thing I wanted to do was swim in the latrine of liberal lemmings. (alliteration, and so early in the morning too.)
Dude…you guys…you don’t get it…
CHECK THIS FWEAKIN THING OUT!!!

I saw the rocket car episode. Cool, despite the anti-climactic results. But I mostly watch MythBastards because of Kari. She strikes me as someone who would do shots of Jaeger with you and then want to arm wrestle. I like that in a woman.
How many debates can you cram into an already way too long election cycle. Wake me in August. Jeesh!
I actually sat through all of it. The crowd turned on Edwards and Obama any time they got too tough on Hillary. They also clapped the loudest for Kucinich – the leftier the statement, the louder they got. Total withdrawal from the Middle East (yea!) – strength through peace (YEA!) – impeachments (YEA!! YEA!!!). If he wasn’t such a troll he’d be running away with this thing.
Hillary learned her lesson from last week and gave a one-word answer (no) to the idea of driver’s licenses for illegals. Obama on the other hand tripped up badly on the question, finally stuttering to a “yes but only if” dodge. Apparently, he’s only eloquent during speeches. Kucinich rejected the very notion that there ARE illegal immigrants: “I don’t believe there’s any such thing as an illegal human being,” he solemnly intoned.
Richardson tried to outflank Kucinich on the left with pronouncements like “human rights (in another country) are more important than (US) national security”, and “it doesn’t matter if US deaths are down in Iraq, ONE dead American is too many!” That’s what America needs – a Commander-in-Chief unwilling to risk a single life. I’m betting he blew any chance at the VP slot with that performance last night. He’s in way over his head, and would get his clock cleaned in a one-on-one debate.
The exploding rocket car was a little disappointing. The explosion was fun though. I really preferred the school bus getting some air thanks to the 747.
Until now, I thought the rocketcar explosion was supposed to be symbolic of Hillary’s campaign going “BOOM!” Now, I realize that it was an entirely different show.
It was, however, the greatest accidental explosion in the show’s history.
True, but it was sad they spent ten grand on what turned out to be two big bombs.
