Why We Need Common Sense Restrictions on the Nineteenth Amendment

[High Praise! to The Gormogons]

Women don’t “need” to vote, do they? After all, the country functioned just fine without women voting for well over 100 years. America had freed its slaves and restored peace in Europe. And after women got the franchise in 1920? Global carnage ensued: World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Iraq II, Afghanistan, Mali, etc. Frankly, the country needs to be free from the scourge of women’s suffrage.

  1. . Here’s all we need to do….modify the 19th Amendment so that women still have the right to vote, except for scary looking ones with one or more military characteristics. That will disenfranchise almost half of the Democrat vote. Our problems are over.

  2. Democracy is a bad idea. What we need is less low information voters and more responsible people making the decisions. Back when women didn’t have the vote they were represented by their menfolk.

Seriously having everyone vote dilutes the importance of the vote. If every head of household got a vote it would mean better choices. Have the people who own property vote, or have just taxpayers vote, or just veterans or the 5 oldest people in the county.

  3. Truth is, not all Democrat women are scary looking…Long time ago I met a gorgeous one in a bar, and we ended up going back to my place. I wanted to show her my pistol grip. Things didn’t turn out too well though, turns out she had a telescoping stock.

  4. Jimmy I do adore you, platonically. (the spouse would be unhappy if it were different and after 37 years I’m too tired to train a new spouse). Here’s the thing. Most conservative women are smart enough to vote for someone because of their stand on the issues. I know lets take the vote away from hippies who never grew up, professors, actors, and members of PETA, the Sierra Club and Moveon.org.

  5. “Platonically” – that’s good, seanmahair, because, I fear I’m not trainable!

But I’ll tell you a secret about me and Conservative women: I can spot them from a mile away. Why? Because, in a field of women, they’re the only ones who appear to know what the hell they’re trying to do.
