I want that job, get paid to harass and eaves drop on politicians in a confined space, sounds lime a good way to influence votes and get some good insider info for stock trading.
The position of Senate/Congressional Elevator Operator has been a unionized no-show job going back before the days of Borah and Rayburn. A classic sinecure.

I can only wonder what the cost was of manning an elevator, installing safety gates on stairs, etc., was to accommodate Joe Biden.
this gets reported every few years. nothing is ever done, obviously. can’t have the senator mixing with the riffraff.
One overlooked fact, Senators are simply too stupid to figure out how an elevator works.
