Well…kind of! Senator Reid let everyone go home except a few to “keep the debate going” so they could get some sleep… I’ll bet we are scaring the shit out of the bad guys watching this unfold around the world!
My 13 year old daughter’s sarcastic comment on this:
“Gee, We want to help the troops. How can we do that?…
I know! We’ll have a slumber party!!!”
(My teenage daughter is more grown up than Hairy Greed.)
Well I was going to make a sarcastic comment but nothing I could ever say would top Reality Intrudes’ daughter’s. Say Reality, does your daughter give lessons?
It’s a shame. Reed, Pelosi and the others will probably be the first to bail out and move to another country if they’re successful in ruining this one. But they never liked America anyway, so to them it doesn’t really matter.
We can’t win in Iraq if it to win it means rebuilding the whole country and creating a working government. Bush initial goals for Iraq are not feasible. The Shias and Sunnis simply aren’t going to stop killing each other and the effort to get them to stop is way to costly to us in both troop lives and money. It is ugly to say it but it was better when Saddam was busy oppressing the Shias because it kept a weird balance in the Middle East and kept Iran in check.
We should pull out all the National Guard troops. Most can come home and maybe some (not the ones who have been on multiple Iraq stints) can go help in Afghanistan, which is in serious need of help. In Iraq we should basically leave lots of special forces troops in there with air force backup and flying shooter drones to annihilate pockets of Al Qaeda in Iraq. Right now focusing on all the sectarian violence in Iraq is allowing the terrorists to rebuild.
Bush is as stubborn as he is crazy and he is going to hold his position on Iraq until the GOP turns on him. That’s starting to happen but it won’t happen completely until September. In September Bush’s party will completely turn on him over Iraq – enough for 60+ Senate votes. The Democrat’s cheesy allnighter isn’t going to accomplish anything.
Bush should also stop paying billions of our money to Musharraf if he isn’t going to kill the terrorists. At some point we will have to kill the rest of Al Qaeda (in Pakistan near the Afghanistan border) ourselves. It would have been better to have done it several years ago. The last thing we need is Al Qaeda stregthening so much in Pakistan that they can threaten Musharraf’s government. There are nukes there.
Al Qeada is still very well funded. Most of the funding for Al Qeada comes from rich middle eastern oil companies so there is also the issue of cutting off the money supply by reducing our need for foreign oil. Bush hasn’t done much about that because it is complicated but more because Bush/Cheney are dedicated oil men. This video explains more about all this.
NEVER have I seen such an absolutely hideous and vile video. Sarcasm Man, you should be ashamed of yourself for posting a link to that kind of thing here.
Thanks Da Coyote. She is a little young for giving lessons, but has been taking her sarcasm lessons from FrankJ, and her debate lessons from Hannity and Mark Levin. We will have to beat off the Conservative guys with a large stick when she gets a little older – except that the Conservative guys should be pretty polite. : )

Jeez, make one smart-ass comment to Harry Reid that Freddy Krueger is the new head of Al Qaeda, and this is what happens….
